⭐️ 5/5 I will be reflecting on and rereading these pages for many years to come. Through Brown-Nagin's chapters, I looked back at the Civil Rights movement, reflected on the current state of civil rights, and (worriedly) pondered what the ongoing fight for justice in the US will entail #booksky

Not even a full two chapters, but wow. What an important book for the times. Highly recommend. Civil Rights Queen: Constance Baker Motley and the Struggle for Equality by Tomiko Brown-Nagin

I can't sing enough praises for Richmond VA bookstore Shelf Life Books. They post recs on their IG stories (shelflifebooksrva) and are a my #1 source for my To-Read pile. See screenshots of recent recs. They never disappoint. Check them out! #booksky #rva #shoplocal

2nd book of the year done! Demi Moore's memoir, Inside Out I haven't read too many Hollywood memoirs, but this seems like an exceptionally good one. Moore's story is clear-headed & fascinating. I'm glad she put out her narrative, instead of having it be dictated by the media. 5/5 ⭐️ #booksky

Sad to unsubscribe from the Washington Post. It's my local paper. It was an institution. My dad would read it back to back on the weekends. My high school government teacher assigned us to read the Outlook section. I enjoyed reading past the front page on my app. Hope to subscribe again..

I've had a hard time getting into books the past few months. I started about 6 books, some that I was really looking forward to, but just couldn't get into it. But, I'm finally into a book! "Here We Go Again" by Alison Cochrun is a gem -in so many ways. #booksky 🏳️‍🌈

SNL’s quality ebbs and flows, but when it’s good… it’s great. Tonight was great. Every sketch was on point—Domingo, Bill Murray on Update, Eddie Murphy playing Tracy Morgan. Good shit. Here’s to another 50 years. #SNL50
