After living through people posting whenever we hit a date from the original trilogy, it's REAL weird to finally be here after a seven year gap.

This is easily the best Kevin has looked since the original SC/Third, that's my fucking GOAT right there

Weekly Famitsu Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter news reveal of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter reveal for Anelace, Kevin, Renne, Leonhardt and Georg Weissmann.

I figured I'd toss my hat into the ring on this trend after I finally decided to look it up The biggest struggle was "retro game" because that depends on what we count as "retro" so I threw my favorite SNES game on there

Honestly the most frustrating thing about Nintendo fanboys is that they refuse to play any “anime” or “anime-adjacent” games. Some view that RPGs are “weeb shit” when they see Fire Emblem or Xenoblade, but would turn an eye when they see Mario or Pokémon.

This also extends to the need for validation. I'm seeing so many fans of the Mario Galaxy film try to divise elaborate reasons as to why critics hated the film and why it's actually great. It legit doesn't matter. If YOU enjoyed something, fuck what the critics think!

One thing I think about often is that in recent years, particularly in a post-COVID world, the media people consume has become a stand-in for their personality. As such, individuals are not judged by their own selves but instead the morality and ethics of the things that they like.

People are unable to understand that depiction does not equal endorsement and instead use depiction as a means of judging the artist and the audience. It's weird and backwards. You aren't defined by the movies you watch, gamws you play, etc. You're defined by you, yourself.

I've noticed it grow more and more over these years. People are referred to "fans" as something as a means to deride them. You see a bad take on social media? "Heh, typical Boku no Hero fan". You like Monogatari? "Oh, so you're a pedophile?" That sort of thing.

"but everyone has always used machine translation" yeah and the wests understanding of japanese video game history and culture in general has always been wildly inaccurate! Maybe those two things are correlated

Having really long hair is actually a blessing because I've gotten to the point I no longer give a shit at work and can hide an earbud in one ear behind my hair

no one likes anything because liking things is cringe and being negative means you're critical and smart

frankly if I took takes on anime and manga on social media seriously I would just end up thinking both mediums are dogshit

New scientific study tries to diagnose that unique feeling of sad wistfulness after completing a video game. It's called "Post-Game Depression" or P-DGS and it's strongest with RPGs: https://kotaku.com/rpg-science-study-depression-nostalgia-2000681061

I'll take this over "fanservice = Diddy" and racist anime fans from Southeast Asia LARPing as Aryans

This particular image has been making rounds on Twitter, and while some people cringe at the mere sight of this era of anime communities, I'll keep it a buck 50 with you, this era of Weebs was FARRR less obnoxious than the ones we're seeing in this day and age

there's so little noise around this incredibly anti consumer pricing tactic but i assure you that if it was another certain company doing it every single content creator would make a thousand videos about it and you would never hear the end of it

Sony is reportedly testing dynamic pricing on the PlayStation Store Games are being shown at different prices to different users in experiments across some regions (via Polygon)

Beyond the obvious issues like delisting games, definitive editions, and the higher prices, this reeks of the stupid mindset that growth has to be forever and the line must always go up bullshit we keep seeing Also y'know.... Marketing better
