Bright and sunny October Sunday is starting off well: warm knit socks, sweater knitting project in progress on the table, morning football game, brought the plants inside overnight so they didn't freeze, whiff of woodsmoke in my hair from last night's fire, tea steeping on the table next to me.

The most absolutely massive flex from the state fair exhibit. This quilt is made of 40 years of prize ribbons from various categories at the New Mexico State Fair won by Carol St. Clair Johnson. She also won a prize for this quilt.

Love this! Art materials are meant to be used! Yes, even the good stuff. ESPECIALLY the good stuff. Nothing is "too good" or "too nice" to use. Break in that nice sketchbook, use the nice paper, open the good paints. Don't put it on the high shelf and deprive yourself of enjoying art supplies.

Recreating a hat that I saw in a picture. This sample is knit at a tension that is too loose for the yarn, but I'm pleased to have figured out how to do the transfers. It's easier than I thought it would be :) Next, figuring out how to do the crown decreases. #MachineKnitting #knitsky

200 clean(ish) standard gauge knitting machine needles after being soaked in 91% isopropyl alcohol and a few drops of oil. I think the pattern of schmutz they made on the cloth is kind of neat. #KnittingPirate #KnittingMachine #knitsky

I successfully knit the wolves, but it took so much manual needle selection 😭 The machine's been brought to the workshop for cleaning & figuring out what's wrong. Next time I might just do more dark blue ribbing at the brim instead of the 'ground' effect. #KnittingPirate #Knitsky #MachineKnitting
