I fully believe if in a few years we have a system that solves all problems, answers all questions, is 100% accurate at all times, these three things will be true: 1: a trillionaire will use it to keep people down 2: nobody will want it 3: it will amaze nobody, even though it's intensely impressive

Landlords provide housing like scalpers provide concert tickets.

Being a lesbian and having feminine friends sucks because women are wayy too hot... and women I'm willing to be friends with that are way too hot only leads to torment. Or endless flirting. BTW girl-flirting is so ambiguous. Like, are you flirting with me fr fr or is it jk jk? fml

People that right now believe the left and the right are the same are fucking stupid at this point. Period.

Is the left only good? Nope. They've got terrible people too. But are they doing what the right is? Not most of them, no. And the ones that are need to be replaced.

I feel like if you need this explained to you, you're deliberately hiding under a rock or in a right wing news bubble. We have been fighting this for what 12 years now? We've been saying it for the whole time, and we keep being right about it. Consider that maybe you're wrong this time, finally.

AI is probably harmful to us. Intensely rich people hoarding resources and power are already proven harmful to us. When AI is harmful to us, it's going to be when the billionaires use it to harm us. It won't be because the AI "escaped". It'll be because the rich decided to use it to hurt us.

It's not society that's against gay people, or trans people, or immigrants. It's rich people distracting us from what actually matters. For as long as we're distracted, we aren't watching them, or fighting them. We're just fighting each other. Unnecessarily.

The rich don't want us putting up actually good politicians. They don't want us happy. Or comfortable. They don't want us knowing their names are in the pedofiles. They don't want us to notice they're stealing all our resources. They just want us to blame each other... for everything.

Don't trust the billionaires' messaging causing us to fight each other. They're watching us from above, poking us with sticks like we're all just bugs in a jar, hoping to see us fight so we don't notice what they're doing to our jar.

Billionaires are amoral. Private equity is amoral. Corporations are amoral. They all don't care, they just want more & more & more. And they'll take & take & take from us. Money, resources, time, land, power, control, liberty, rights, life.

With AI, everyone's got a massive power super laser. I hope people know not to point it at each other's eyes while they're using it to cut down trees or plow fields or whatever it is people do with massive power super lasers. It'd be nice if they don't use it for wars or invading our privacy... oh

If y'all hate it when the government runs your school and health, you're really gonna hate it when they run your religion.

I will not be surprised if at some point we have to plead with a weapon-carrying AI-powered robot to spare us because the people in charge of them trained the model to believe we were all terrorists, and we have to talk them out of that literal brainwashing. And we will fail to do so.

pretty cool that everything is just reverted 50 years because the dumbest 50,000 people in the country voted for hitler

The now defunct 2024 Title IX ruling provided significant protections against sexual harassment and assault, as well as protecting LGBTQ+ students in schools. edsource.org/updates/u-s-...

More child harm from the "pro-life" people. "Pro-life" my ass. The right is anti-life, anti-children, anti-freedom, and anti-progress. There's no pro-life in there.

Every day, this administration continues to target LGBTQIA+ kids. It’s incredibly harmful and does the exact opposite of what our shared goal should be: protecting kids. The LGBTQIA+ community and all our students deserve better.

So he can be defenestrated? No thanks. What kind of Russian asset bullshit is this advice?

Zelensky rejected another appeal from Trump to meet Putin in Moscow, Bloomberg reports. "People familiar with the Ukrainian president’s position said Trump raising the issue upset him." Asked later when he would go to Moscow, Zelensky replied: “On a fucking missile.”

Jensen Huang doesn't know his own zip code not because of AI, but because he's so absurdly rich, he's outsourced virtually every daily activity where an address is required (i.e. paperwork, bills, mundane purchases) to administrative staff who barely get paid enough to afford a 1 bedroom apartment.

Did the FBI relax their hiring rules to allow bestiality for Elon? Why else would he name his company "spay-sex"?

Just wait, before long the US government will subsidize frontier LLM firms so they survive the economy or so they outbuild Chinese firms. Whether we want it or not, the citizens of the US will be paying for LLM companies, and we probably won't even get to use them ourselves as individuals.

I've solved the video streaming service enshittification treadmill for myself: I've decided it's not worth watching movies, so I don't. I'm not going to watch your f'king ads, so if you're going to ensure that's the only way I can watch your stuff, I just won't. Their genius MBAs can suck my balls.

Once again feel obligated to remind CEOs that there are easier ways to shut down services and apps than this. If you want people to stop using it just turn it off.

If you're playing Gambonanza, try seed 3506634752. I ended up with 10 Queens on the board and 7 Queens in the stock using the White Crown's Gambit and Recruiter Hat's Gambit while having only Queens in the stock. You'll be set to the end of the game.

It does require you to actually play the game for a while before you become OP. Also, obviously this is not going to be fun if all you do is easy seeds, but it's fun to see gambits mesh so well together.

“I worked for what I have. I don’t owe anyone anything.” So you paved the roads you drive on? Built the power grid? Trained teachers? Invented the internet? Or did society provide the infrastructure, education and stability that made your success possible? ➡️ No one makes it entirely on their own.

"I picked these people to cheat for me and they aren't doing it. They are failing me and the Republican party I kompromatted my way into owning. They're gonna send me to prison for treason for things I definitely did. That's unfair because I'm above the law." (my interpretation of his words)

I think what happens to the humans in Wall-E is what will happen to the humans in the real world. Dumb, lazy, polluting their worlds until they have to run away to find new ones, basically no ability to focus or pay attention, and ignorant. Entertained forever with no purpose, no goals, no spirit.

What happens when he decides someone else won the midterms? What happens when he decides not to leave the White House when the time comes? What happens when he decides we don't really need any more elections?

Who is going to save us then? It's not going to be the usual people that go up against government, because many of them are going to be locked up or sent away. It's not going to be the US, who usually "saves" other countries from things like this.

This man cheats at everything. The other day he even told voters to cheat so their party can win. He literally says "Cheat Like Hell" at the first ever midterm Republican convention. The same man that claims that the Democrats can only win if they cheat... while telling people to cheat.

The only way this man can win is by cheating. Cheating the people, cheating the laws, cheating the system, ... and apparently cheating in elections. Right now the law doesn't apply to him, because nobody will enforce the law.

You know how some people say that if you aren't religious, there's nothing stopping you from being wholly immoral, and it's only religion that will save you? A large subset of those people also say morality is only available if you vote for their party. Specifically this guy's political party.
