Walk Mate is ready for iPhone Duo on day one! After receiving valuable feedback from Apple evangelists at a great workshop in the Istanbul office, it is ready to go πŸ€²πŸ»πŸš€ apple.co/4mz7vev #iphoneduo #walkmate #ios27.1

I attended an iPhone Duo and App Intents workshop at the Apple Istanbul office yesterday. It was a great experience for me to work closely with Apple's tech and design evangelists for a day. I got a lot of feedback on my apps. I realized what a huge difference even the choice of an icon can make.

Life goal: unlocked βœ… Today is the last day of @nsspain.bsky.social and I gave my very first public speech yesterday. Huge thanks to the organizers and everyone who came, asked questions, and made my first time on stage one to remember. Hopefully the first of many πŸš€ #NSSpain #iOSDevelopment

The Walk Mate (apple.co/4mz7vev) is ready for iOS 27. Ask Siri: πŸ—£οΈ β€œGenerate a route in Walk Mate” or β€œMake me a walk in Walk Mate” πŸ—£οΈ β€œList my walks in Walk Mate” πŸ—£οΈ β€œWhat’s my longest walk in Walk Mate” πŸ—£οΈ β€œOpen {favorite walk name} n Walk Mate”

Siri on iOS 27 should be able to talk about your app's data. Emre Degirmenci explains how it works. emredegirmenci.substack.com/p/ios-27-app...

emredegirmenci.substack.comTeaching Siri to talk about your favorite walks in Walk MateA practical walk through making Siri understand app data, not just launch a shortcut and wave vaguely at the app. Walk Mate’s favorite routes become App Entities with readable properties, Spotlight indexing, Shortcuts search, and a Maps handoff, which is exactly the kind of plumbing our apps need if we want Apple Intelligence to feel useful instead of decorative. I like how grounded this is: one saved walk, one name Siri can say, one route that opens where the user expects. App Intents can get abstract fast; this keeps the work close to something a person would actually ask for.

As you know Siri will be super powerful with iOS 27 and it's really important to add support for your app. If you want to teach Siri to talk about your app, you can read my journey here:
