a lot of great art was created during its creator's personal progression from okay to good to great, and every time you cheat and try to reach some arbitrary end state prematurely, you rob yourself of that fundamental moment where you learned how to work around your own limits

there's also something to be said for having "eh" raw technical ability and trying to make art 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺. like, a lot of great guitar riffs came from a player trying to be clever about what they're playing within their limitations rather than as demonstrations of pure skill

I have to admit that the running gag of Facebook recommending me wrestlers and Japanese musicians/composers as people that I should add to my friends list is very funny. Of course, I would love to be friends with Takashi Tateishi and Manami Matsumae... also Rebel and Speedball Mike Bailey

played Rockman X a few weeks ago or so and did not remember the Arm Part requiring pixel-perfect precision and had a fair bit of difficulty so i tried to record myself doing this again to show said difficulty but i accidentally got it first try...

(forgive the lag, playing this through Capcom's Captown Retro Arcade website so it's not the most optimized for recording footage...)

as much as i hate corporate greed as everyone else, the vibe-coded nature of the free open-source software """alternatives""" that primarily exist to target commercial products is Not it. i'm not even playing Devil's Advocate on this, it's simply just irresponsible and untrustworthy.

all of these sound too good to be true (it is), but i'm more inclined to believe that most of them are just made out of spite without any real care or objective to provide a viable alternative/replacement for the commercial stuff.

feels like these projects are just coming uo and about to have their own momentary minutes of fame sticking it up to the big guys while not actually providing anything useful at all.

-are the UX (user experience) designs that are taken from the original preserved at all, or are they clunkily implemented with a lot of bugs?

-can they be improved upon and made possibly better, or are they just a bunch of hackjobs that would demand the same unreasonable requirements that modern software tend to impose (i.e. large RAM and borderline bleeding-edge hardware for even the most basic tasks.)

how can you even be sure that they're at the very least comparable to the software they're targeting? -do they have any genuine knowledge of the decompiled/extracted code, or do they just throw all that stuff into their AI prompts hoping for the best result?

Rockman & Forte Groundman Stage BGM chords on guitar + i pulled this from memory. not close to the original voicings played on organ but it's fun

during the past few days i spent doomscrolling just to lurk within the wrestling fanbase because of a wrestler's passing, i realize that i did not miss twitter at all. everything else that was pushed on my feed outside of those were still as dogshit and infuriating as i remember

playing rockman 4 via captown arcade on mobile and it really puts into perspective how much i took for granted the mobility that keyboards provide

fuck being afraid of letting my emotions get the better of me. i mean it with sincerity and in earnest when i say that i cherish all the people close to me. i also hope that i can work through being standoff-ish to be more open to people not as close.

could only catch up with Dynamite thru highlights but oh my fucking god it's going to give me a heart attack on top of bursting into tears several times

compensated brass saddles finally arrived. installed them and the string spacing looks *infinitely* nicer

so a couple of things.. - high E string is dead. no biggie, i can just buy new sets - the string spacing is uneven. heard that this is not uncommon for this brigde type, and it still plays well despite that, but it *does* bother me visually. will try compensated saddles when those arrive

i'm not ready...

grateful to not carry any significant trauma after being molested by a classmate in senior high 8 years ago but god did he set a really bad example for LGBT folk when i was still in my formative years. very thankful to have met many great people that prevented me from going down the pipeline

my first case of gear acquisition syndrome. will also be the last since the jazzmaster style body is the only "uncommon" shape that i've ever wanted. planning to mod this with a bigsby vibrato whenever i've bonded enough with this

sound-wise this is jangly as hell the bridge pickup is ridiculously bright, ***way brighter*** than my strat. the neck pickup on the other hand is The neck pup sound that i've been looking for. definitely worth the purchase for a guitar from an abnormally low price bracket
