Initially, Kondratov spent over 70 days in custody under "carousel arrests": a series of consecutive detentions for "petty hooliganism." In August 2026, he was moved to a pre-trial detention center on charges of "treason." The criminal case was based on six posts he had made online (3/4)

This marks at least the eleventh death of an individual involved in a politically motivated case in Russia since the beginning of 2026. It is the second such death in the span of a month; on October 8, it was reported that 52-year-old political prisoner Igor Yakovenko had died (4/4)

A Russian military court sentenced 77-year-old Crimean activist Volodymyr Ananiev to 18 years in a maximum-security prison. At the hearing, he said that any actual term would be a “death sentence.” Read Ananiev's and his touching closing statement in court: en.zona.media/article/2026...

We calculated that nearly 1 hour and 20 minutes of footage was cut from the first two seasons of Euphoria. Most of the censorship targets LGBTQ+ content, but sex scenes, even conversations about dick pics, were also cut. Another three and a half minutes were removed due to drug-related content

“For me, this [detention] came as a surprise. He was there, fighting for Ukraine for about half a year, then came home, and recently went back there again. To be honest, I don’t know exactly what he was doing there; I didn’t ask him” (6/7)

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and the country’s Foreign Ministry told the channel that, as yet, they were only aware of the detention from media reports: “The Foreign Ministry has taken note of the media reports, but is not currently handling such a case” (7/7) Video: FSB press service

A case is opened against him for illegally crossing the border. The FSB is also “considering” whether to charge him with “terrorism” and “mercenary activity.” It states that the Swede was the commander of a drone unit in the “Aidar” regiment, recognised in Russia as a “terrorist organisation” (2/7)

The FSB published a video of the man’s interrogation following his detention. The montage reportedly included a Ukrainian military document (the authenticity of which has not been confirmed) in which the name Stalkrantz Lindholm Freddy Mikael is mentioned (3/7)

Nikolai Nabiev and two other defendants in the case, 70-year-old Marina Zakharova and 65-year-old Sergei Kuzovenko, were arrested in the spring of 2022. They are accused of establishing the so-called “people’s militia of the territorial clan community ‘Rusy Kubani’” (6/7)

Kavkazsky Uzel reported that the main evidence against Nabiev, Zakharova, and Kuzovenko are video recordings of conversations over meals, filmed by undercover FSB officers who’d been buying alcohol for the pensioners. They also persuaded one of the men to “sell the faulty pistol he possessed” (7/7)

“[The man who struck me] insulted me and humiliated me with foul language as he pleased.” During the hearing, at the request of the presiding judge, Maxim Nikitin, the prison guards returned his bottle of nitroglycerine to him (4/7)

Prior to this, on September 7, Nabiev lost consciousness whilst being transported from the detention centre to court and, according to him, came round in the resuscitation unit, where he spent 3 days. He was later transferred to the intensive care unit, where he remained until early October (5/7)

Nabiev, a resident of the Uspensky District in Kuban in the south of Russia, accused of organising an illegal armed group and trafficking in weapons, appeared in the courtroom of the Southern District Military Court with a bruise on his face and stated that he had been beaten by prison guards (2/7)

On October 12, a bruise was clearly visible on the defendant’s cheek beneath his left eye. Nabiev explained its origin in court as follows: “[They beat me] because I asked for my medication. They took my nitroglycerine away, but I do suffer from attacks. Well, they punched me in the face” (3/7)
