Sounds like the kind of thing you have to say now, but what GM would take the job without getting to choose the coach?

*The expectation as of now is that Stephanie White will remain head coach of the Fever, sources told ESPN. *When she returned to the Fever organization in 2024, Kelly Krauskopf never intended to stay in the role long-term, sources said, and anticipated staying on for only two or three years max.

FYI, the W announces more people are watching the W Finals than ever. USA Sports delivered the most-watched WNBA Finals Game 3 since 1999 – second-best all-time and most-watched ever on cable – averaging 1.71 million viewers for Wednesday night’s Game 3.

Game 3 viewership was up 31% vs. last year’s 2025 Game 3 (LV/PHX) and saw a 29% increase in viewership from Game 2 (1.33 million) (the most-watched WNBA Finals Game 2 on cable in history).

USA Sports’ 2026 WNBA playoff coverage is averaging 1.4 million viewers, up 39% vs. the comparable First Round and Finals windows in 2025.

Ballhalla, want to know what it's like to be coached by Coach Nakase? Thread... Q. Was Ballhalla hostile enough for your liking? NN: I think so. I think so. Once I get on there and I start to write my notes on the board, I kind of actually block everything out. But...

I did feel a different roar. So yeah, I was excited. They were really screaming, you know, when they got it out. So great job. But...

But hey, level up, right? Like, we got to go game 2. It has to be better. We're going to ask more from our players. So I would say, you know, let's get a better game 2. So rest and recover, Ballhalla, you know? Yeah. Careful what you drink tonight.

the nakases will be at today's game, watching their daughter/sister natalie as a head coach in the wnba finals for the first time. their family history - and the legacy of incarceration (while playing basketball) for japanese american communities during WWII - is so, so, so, so, so important.

From last night… Explain: Valkyries upset Aces with bonkers Game 2 ending This is a video breakdown of the ending of Game 2 of Golden State Valkyries vs Las Vegas Aces. Including: - GSV defense on Jackie Young - LVA counter strategies - Burton game-winner celebration audit

Gabby and Juste practice catch and shoot along the arc, lifting and drifting between the top and the wing.

Ceci, KT and Kaila practice attacking a close out out of the corner. Notice the staff with a big foam arm which they use to shove and whack the players as they try to finish layups through contact.

Valks practice starting with stretching and warmups. It’s still crowded, but there are definitely fewer press here, like maybe 50% fewer for the Valkyrie half of media day compared to the Dream half. A data point comparing the relative national interest.

At WNBA Finals Media Day. Atlanta Dream open practice. It’s full court 5v5. Can’t see much but, hey look at the nice printed shirts for the scout squad fake Valkyries. Fake Kiah, Ceci, KT, Gabby, Tip. Presumably couldn’t get the real Violet for trademark reasons haha.

These are rules to prevent bets on things a single player can fix, so people will trust the system and keep gambling. Meanwhile, the unregulated gambling industry continues to inflict terrible social costs.

Shams Charania Tweets@shamsbot.bsky.social

The NBA and prominent sportsbooks have agreed to ban multiple types of bets, per me and @DavidPurdum, such as: - Parlay bets involving the under on the same player's statistics - "First of" market; examples: winner of opening tip, an individual's specific shot, rebound, assist, steal - Under
