Veronica Burton’s four blocks tie Diana Taurasi (2009) as the most blocks by a guard in a WNBA Finals game. Burton also set her postseason career high in blocks. (Per WNBA)

“We love Ballhalla but we don’t want to come back here. So we need to go in with the mentality that, like, we have to win. It's do or die.” Kiah Stokes

Veronica Burton has reached another level in these last 2 games. She has 14 points 4 blocks, 8 rebounds and 31 minutes with 5:50 remaining. She is all over the floor

Ballhalla has become a nationally-celebrated phenomenon, but something's missing from the headlines: GSV's founding support by queer fans like Cheryl & Deb Espinosa-Jones, who embraced the WNBA as Deb battled terminal cancer. I wrote about her legacy & the "full blown lesbian history" of Ballhalla:

U.S. citizen Ricardo Gonzalez was brutally detained by ICE in Long Beach while he yelled for help and said his arm was broken. This is a pattern of abuse and violence from ICE. No one is safe and our communities are being terrorized. We need ICE out.

I went viral on two moments so far for the WNBA finals go me

Different huddle from 2 days ago for the Valkyries

Golden state held to a 4 point quarter with 4:26 remaining. The arena is rocking after Isobel’s three 40-46 Valkyries lead

Everyone screamed from the rooftops for golden state to make adjustments and they did. They lead 42-26 at halftime & Kaila Charles has been all over the floor. Defense limited the entire Dream offense to single digit scorers. Expect the 2nd half to be another dawg fight

I believe this is the Valkyries first lead in the last 2 games 16-11. They started 1/11 but figured it out. Kaila Charles putting it all out there with 5 PT 3 REB, Kiah 6 REB

You can really see the purple in this white out 👀

Finally got some chicken and waffles !!

Lineup change for the Valkyries 🚨 GOLDEN STATE STARTERS F - #6 Kaila Charles  F - #15 Tiffany Hayes C - #41 Kiah Stokes G - #1 Gabby Williams G - #22 Veronica Burton

Karl Smesko, “you need everybody locked in if you’re trying to force turnovers” Golden State turned the ball over 17 times in Game 2 & Game 3

Angel Reese also shared during media availability today that Ballhalla doesn’t intimidate her

Veronica Burton this morning: "I think it would be silly to overreact now."

Gabby Williams visibly animated in the huddle immediately after going down 2-1 in Atlanta, 97-71

The Dream dominated the third quarter and golden state couldn’t respond. The defense fell apart and different matchups didn’t work - Atlanta made sure to take care of those mismatches. Emotional night for the Valkyries down 2-1 in the wnba finals

Valkyries trail 46-40 it could be worse Janelle Salaün is shooting well finally Golden state missing too many FT Someone drive to the hoop man

This crowd is unreal. I can’t even lie. My earplugs gotta stay in

The score is ugly but some pros for the Valkyries - feed Ami in the paint - drive to the hoop - move the ball more to create a good shot

6-0 run for the dream and a turnover from the Valkyries it’s rocking in here

It’s extremely loud in here guys. They heard the message from Ballhalla loud and clear

15 minutes until tip off. the arena isn’t fully filled yet, but those boo’s were LOUD for the Valkyries warmups

so like all of this was avoidable as it is

Everyone looks sooo good in the arena okay Atlanta knows how to dress 🔥

Kiah Stokes on what makes guarding Angel Reese so difficult, “she does a great job of taking advantage of mismatches”

can you believe Kaila Charles was cut last season

Valkyries lose their first home game in the playoffs 79-65 to the Dream. The scoring droughts hurt golden state and the adjustments for Angel Reese worked tonight. She closed the game with 30 pts, 16 Reb. She was unstoppable

Jordin Canada chucks up a 3 at the buzzer - swish. Dream lead 60-46 going into the 4th and that shot felt like a dagger The energy is weird in here. Gabby’s layup circled the rim and fell out, Valkyries shooting 26% from the field in 3Q

Valkyries trail 39-37, and shot 3-13 in the 2nd quarter. They would have a little cushion if everyone hit their layups Hayes leads with 10 points Angel 15 pt, 7 REB

Tiffany Hayes always saves the day.

10-0 run for Dream, Valkyries scoreless since 4:14 of the quarter

people keep introducing themselves and saying that they read rough notes. this has NEVER EVER HAPPENED TO ME before. i am so touched and grateful. also, i have no words to describe this game. something special is happening.

Major boos for Atlanta

Every game I get emotional as hell for women’s sports and its growth in the bay ❤️

ICE just tried to kidnap a US BORN CITIZEN in Long Beach. The neighborhood blocked them in and didn’t let them take her away! She was able to escape, thanks to her community. FUCK THESE LOSERS, THEYRE SCARED OF US. STAY ALERT, STAY ARMED, STAY READY.

If you’re visiting SF from Atlanta welcome!! And be prepared to experience SF during the best weather ever 😎 pack shorts I know it sounds crazy

today is the valkyries' rest day but @ashmeremedia.bsky.social and i have for you a behind-the-scenes of the championship-bound VALKYRIES VIBES DURING FINALS WEEK

Aminata Gueye on playing w/ Gabby & GSV “she’s been incredible. Seeing her play here she’s putting everything on her shoulders. The way she’s confident just has to make you feel more confident. You can’t be low next to her, you want to be on the same energy level as her.”
