So many new people! Hello! I would guess that you're here because you’ve read one or more of my books, The Night Circus & The Starless Sea, or you like my cat, Lady Vesper Victoria Sparkles Motorboat Morgenstern-Scott. This is a short re-intro thread to cover a few other things. 🖤

I had the honor of writing the introduction for Folio Society's new collection of Grimms' Fairy Tales, a delightful yet daunting task, and I had a wonderful time revisiting these stories in these woods. This edition contains 50 tales and is beautifully illustrated by Sophy Hollington.

Also I rolled credits on Control Resonant and it is wondrous and beautiful and REDACTED. Control is one of my favorite games of all time and Resonant is a brilliant sequel/companion/sibling. (The rest of my autumn gaming is going to be very Dragon's Dogma II: Dark Arisen centric.)

The Harvill Books 15th anniversary edition of The Night Circus is available today, October 15th! It is very pretty and I feel very old. 🎪

For the 15th anniversary of The Night Circus my team at Harvill Books in the UK has put together this wonderful new hardcover edition, with beautiful artwork by Kei-Ella Loewe and a new introduction by @alixeharrow.bsky.social that both made me laugh and made me cry. 🖤

Hi Bluesky! I'm rarely around & I hope you're all well. Here we have been playing Control Resonant (me) and inspecting the seasonal decorative gourds (Vesper) when we are not writing things (me, Vesper should write more). There are farmers' market dahlias and everything is spooky and beautiful. 🖤🍂

The Night Circus turns 15 this year, somehow, and the US paperback from Vintage Books is getting a gorgeous new look for the occasion. Cover design by Madeline Partner with art by the incomparable @alexeckmanlawn.bsky.social (who also did the art for the US paperback of The Starless Sea) 🖤🎪🖤

This book is the greatest showcase of the love of the process of writing and the art of language as there has ever been. I hardly remember the plot because every time I read it I get lost in the lush, frosty, languid vibrancy of the wordplay. One of my all time goats

New Night Circus paperbacks have, of course, been Vesper approved 🖤

I don’t want to embarrass myself too much so I’ll just say I’m freaking out a little (a lot) about this one

Now we are forty-eight, taking antique mirror selfies while seeking out birthday treasures. (Came home with cigar boxes and a blank 1930s ledger and a tiny Whiting & Davis silver bag.) Later there will be festive beverages 🥂 Mostly offline for the summer, I hope your days are bright and buzzing 🐝

Apparently I'm being impersonated in a version of this now. Unsolicited email from a gmail address with my name + numbers is not from me, of course. I can barely keep up with my actual email.

Oh, man. I did the "Do you ever think of yourself as actually dead, lying in a box with a lid on it?" monologue from Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead so many times for an acting class in college. Never got old, even after countless repetitions. Just a perfect wandering of thoughts & transitions.
