Just a little shop of horrors in the bog — where the plants are hungry and the vibes are fabulously spooky. Did you know that Charles Darwin was fascinated by carnivorous plants in bogs and published a detailed illustrated book about them? If you have encountered them, tell me about it!!

i don’t find these AI allegations credible, i find the atlantic’s new project deeply suspect, and while i don’t particularly care for the story in question, it coheres in a way that AI-written fiction doesn’t, ime

If you are a graduate student in the humanities (construed as broadly as possible), what is the MOST EXCITING book published in the last five years to you? Please repost if you’re not a graduate student!

i often feel intolerant of sentiment in movies. very picky about it, don't like to feel too overtly manipulated. but i love it in music. pile on the cheese

Wow, four hours to go and less than $700 from our second stretch goal! Maybe we’ll make it? 👀 (help us make more tiny books please)

We're so grateful to y'all for the support. We couldn't do this without you. www.kickstarter.com/projects/dav...

There’s a great, upside-down pleasure in reading a book so well-suited to your tastes that not having read it already feels like some kind of cosmic joke

I am sorry to coworkers, collaborators, acquaintances and allies, I am in upstate New York and will be unavailable until further notice

I can't believe I missed this – I loved reading this story about a missionary in a strange land in our slush and I'm so glad it's out in the world (and even better)

We are asking the WSFS business meeting to extend this story’s eligibility until 2026, because it received extremely limited distribution in 2025. Only 5,000 copies of the print edition were distributed in late 2025, to a primarily non-SFF audience. It became available online on July 9, 2026. 1/2

I've been a fan of J.F. Gleeson since I read "The Age of Swirling Mists" in @bcsmagazine.bsky.social and this one is just as weird and wonderful. He excels at creating worlds that feel untethered and floaty and strange while having real heft to them

I know it’s tough to know where to put your dollars when it feels like all the zines are running their fundraisers at once. But consider throwing some cash at khōreō, who do incredible work and deserve to be recognized for it

Just a heads up! @khoreo.bsky.social is 5 days from the end of their kickstarter and the mag hasn't funded. L pointed out last month that if we want nice things, we have to communicate that via dollars. Let's retain this important magazine! khōréō Year 6 www.kickstarter.com/projects/kho...
