Please help to build the infrastructure the trans community needs to avoid abuses in everyday life. If the last few years have told us anything, it is that we can't rely on *most people*. If you call yourself a trans ally, chuck us a few £/$/€ to support the only organisation planning for the worst.

It is my birthday on the 16th October, and instead of gifts and well-wishes, please donate to @essehouse.bsky.social so that the organisation can buy and insure a van. It will make such a difference to what they can do!

Your regular reminder that my daughter Alice’s death wasn’t counted in Appleby’s report, despite her meeting all the criteria. And when I emailed the Tavistock adult GIC to inform them they could take Alice off the waitlist, because she’d died by suicide, they never replied. It’s a disgrace.

QueerAF can reveal figures that show 618 people have died while under the care of an NHS gender clinic, at least 21 by suicide. www.wearequeeraf.com/the-deadly-t...

Trans people in Scotland will have the opportunity to meet up for a roast dinner on the first Sunday of every month from January 2027 through @essehouse.bsky.social as they seek to expand their community meet-up provisions. £5 per person. 2 courses. All diets catered for.

We have a relatively dry weekend coming up if anyone has some time to give? Get in touch!

We have another skip arriving on Wednesday, and we are still open to hosting volunteers until the end of the September. A warm bed and good food in return for a few hours labour on a fantastic community asset. Go on... 📧 contact@essehouse.co.uk

Many hands are making short work! Skip number 1 is pretty much filled up. Skip number 2 arriving Monday. Volunteers every day until Wednesday. This is community, in action. 💪 🏳️‍⚧️

If any of our followers are reading this, live in or near Glasgow, and want to help us fill this skip in return for being well fed and watered - please get in touch! 📧 contact@essehouse.co.uk (We will take all the help we can get!)

The only way to avoid this completely is to make use of our Pee in Peace Program We dont deserve to be put in this situation at a workplace, but many of us can not afford, financially or spoon-wise, a legal battle that would be subsequently required; nor want every day to be running a gauntlet.

We are totally okay with it being more than £2. Or less. Whatever works!

Esse House UK@essehouse.bsky.social

If every month we asked you for £2, so that we could afford to keep the lights and heat on this winter - would you sort us out with a couple of quid? Yes? Then please consider making a recurring donation on our website: www.essehouse.co.uk/donate

By numerous, we can confirm that it is *hundreds* of keys and personal safety alarms. And not a single transphobe seeking safety and sanctuary from people that make them feel unsafe. Doesnt really fit the narrative. Does it?

They have not had a single terf application... which somewhat underminess the whole whole "i dont feel safe around trans people" routine they parrot. They have had numerous applications from cis, transitioning and non binary people - because they dont feel safe around terfs. Speaks for itself.

Productive weekend at @essehouse.bsky.social • Outbuildings, trees, and walls have been de-ivy'd • Outbuilding roofs removed. • Outbuilding windows repaired • Old decking removed • A massive bonfire • Hosted Volunteers from Bristol, England, from Johnstone, Scotland and Oregon, USA

This weekend, we have volunteers from 30 mins away, volunteers from down near Bristol, UK, and two volunteers who have travelled, by far, the furthest to help out... all the way from Oregon, US. Every volunteer who came for a working holiday has played a crucial role in our development so far.

We wouldnt be doing this in an ideal world, we wouldnt even exist as an org in an ideal world! We obviously dont *want* to exclude cis people from being allies, and our friends... so this is the solution. You can all come, but only as a +1

Please note: Cis people are only permitted entry as a trans attendees' +1, in order to keep the community safe from harm and harassment. If you stand with us, you should have no problem finding a trans person to attend with who can vouch for you.

The one glimmer of a silver lining of all this exclusionary nonsense targeting trans people is that protecting trans people can be a legitimate aim for the exclusion of cis people from a trans-specific organisation. And we have to use that to ensure transphobes dont target the events we run...

Our CEO earns £0/year in salary. Our volunteers have their expenses met. Our service users have access to subsidised rates or free access where possible. Everyone involved is directly related to the community it stands to serve. For the community, by the community. 🏳️‍⚧️

The Pee in Peace Program, by @essehouse.bsky.social is open to *anybody* experiencing anxiety and fear using public facilities. We know cis women stand to be challenged more often than trans people, just by sheer probability. Stay safe. Have options. Avoid hostility. essehouse.co.uk/pee-in-peace

We are entirely funded by revenue from our heavily subsidised community provisions and donations from those sympathetic to our cause - and rely heavily on volunteer hours and repeat supporters. 2/
