Had my big jab this morning and already feeling the side effects. It’s my 39th and I hope to have many more, every 12 weeks. For those that don’t know, this drug chemically castrates men by removing testosterone that feeds #prostatecancer It works but the impact is grotesque!

Think it's about 7.5 years since I met Tony when he launched the first 5k Your Way - Move Against Cancer initiative in the North & he's become a great friend since then. A tireless fund & awareness raiser for #prostatecancer this is his latest endeavour all while living with terminal cancer

I’m taking on a big challenge in October to raise money for @TackleProstate and support more men and their families living with #prostatecancer I’m trying to run 5km, move 10,000 steps or cycle 10km every day. Please donate tackleprostate.enthuse.com/pf/move-the-...

tackleprostate.enthuse.comMove the Month in OctoberMy challenge is to either run 5km, move 10,000 steps or cycle 10km every day in October. My why is that my experience of living with prostate cancer was that support was pretty awful but then I got in

Since I started to live with incurable cancer it’s always been a challenge to set targets. My initial prognosis wasn’t great and it seemed unlikely that I would see my then 3 year old Grandson become a teenager. Well, today he is 13 so I wrote a blog! runningintocancer.co.uk/2026/08/21/t...

I started my blog was because I wanted my Grandchildren to know who and what "grumps" was when I've gone. I decided to chronicle the key aspects of my life in Reviews of the previous year and 2025 was epic in many ways so here's my review of 2025. runningintocancer.co.uk/2026/01/07/r...

runningintocancer.co.ukReview of 2025HEALTH UPDATE 2025 was a strange year from a health perspective as it was plagued by minor illnesses and viruses that, individually, were something and nothing but cumulatively were a pain. The mos…

Back at The Christie Hospital today for my latest prostate cancer test results. After having been given 2 years to live 8.5 years ago my PSA is still undetectable and cancer completely stable. We live to fight another day. KOKO my friends.

Delighted with my presentation at #ESMO25 for @Medscape. It’s such a privilege to be given the patient voice and make the voices of the thousands of men that @TackleProstate support, heard. Now though I found a beer garden! Won’t be here long cos it’s freezing!

I was 35 with no symptoms and no family history. A high PSA led to a biopsy and a low-risk diagnosis. I spoke with six urologists. Most recommended active surveillance. 1/3 #ProstateCancer

After feeling awful yesterday I felt great today and so pushed it quite hard to do my fastest time on this short route on the 6th consecutive day of running. Rest day from running tomorrow as I’m going hiking in the Peak District 😂😂

ust nearly burst into tears in an exercise class because I was struggling horrendously with fatigue and couldn’t do a lot of the exercises like I normally can. But it’s okay, I got the good cancer! #prostatecancer Still managed a mile plod very slowly!

45 years ago today we got married. 8 years ago I was told I only had 2 years to live thanks to stage 4 #prostatecancer and I didn’t think we’d get to 40 years let alone 45! Now I’m optimistic we’ll get to 50! Don’t think we’ve changed a bit in 45 years 😂😂😂

8.25 years ago I was told I might only have 2 years to live thanks to incurable prostate cancer and I didn’t think I’d get to see my then 3yo grandson Ethan become a teenager. Well he’s 12 this month and I’ve just been told that my PSA remains undetectable! Still beating the odds, a very lucky man!

My grandson doing only his 2nd ever parkrun and making it look easy in 25:30 and beating his old Grumps by 306 places! Mrs C 2nd in her age group with the old fella lagging behind but with a post knee replacement and Warrington parkrun PB!

I’ve updated my blog with a piece about how much movement matters, particularly for those living with and beyond cancer. It’s a bit of a travelogue of our recent trip to Slovenia with a sub plot around exercise and the photo’s are stunning. runningintocancer.co.uk/2025/07/29/m...

Just back from a slow 3km run and thought I’d do a wee video wishing my friend Kev Webber (whose been living with stage 4 prostate cancer for 10 years) good luck in his ultra marathon in Andalucia where it’s currently 40c+

It was a warm & sweaty #parkrun followed by a fab coffee & brekkie as Tony says. And it was well before the watershed for the chat which led from a misheard drink order to the intimate impacts of having prostate cancer..... We were crying laughing. (It's also important men are aware!)

Such a brilliant morning at 5k Your Way at Wilmslow parkrun this morning. Such a brilliant initiative supporting those living with, beyond and impacted by cancer via parkrun and exercise. Wonderful chat over coffee afterwards
