It seems like decentralised self-organisation is the default in large scale coordination, except in human networks. The act of actively organising groups and centralising control is a) a strategy to reduce complexity and b) a way to wield power.

Als je zou denken in grotere strategieen (maar die zijn meestal niet t geval), dan zou je denken dat D66 en CDA bij de formatie de VVD de zin hebben gegeven omdat ze wisten dat dat later alsnog gecorrigeerd ging worden. Pro was nu eenmaal nodig is om te overleven als kabinet.

De vragen die de AI-pioniers zich stelden mid jaren '50 hebben ons wellicht op het verkeerde been gezet. De mens als uitgangspunt voor het beoordelen van wat AI kan, is misschien een verkeerd frame. We moeten eerder kijken naar complexe systemen.

En wellicht ontdekken we over een tijd dat we ook altijd verkeerd gekeken hebben naar wat menselijke intelligentie is. We dichten onszelf allerlei superkrachten toe, die misschien wel meevallen. En daarmee val dan ook de bodem weg uit de vergelijking van AI met menselijke intelligentie.
