An interesting article I came across. A house my family owned in East End, Newport News, VA. My fam bought it in the 1950s but it was previously owned by NY Rockette, Geraldine Quick. This is wild because East End has always been Black in my lifetime. That 50s white flight must've been serious.

I'm really hoping I can trace my family all the way back until how they got to America. I don't think I will be able to because documentation of family lines was bad back then, especially since people just lept recycling biblical names, with the same common European surnames but I'm going to try.

Also while researching my family tree, I no longer believe the lie that Black people have shorter lifespans than white people. From my observation, they're the same. Most of my family members and leads that I've come across, lived well into their late 70s, 80s and some even into their 90s.
