To my dying day I will regard it to be the blackest of marks that the US electorate conferred upon one of the worst human beings to have ever lived the US presidency, not once but twice.

America has gotten to that last part of Monopoly where the game is effectively over and we're all just watching the Elites suck up all the money, nobody else is allowed to really keep playing the game & we're all getting more pissed by the minute.
Flip the damn board over already.

"The World Cup belongs to the world, not to governments, political interests, or football administrators. It belongs to the players, the referees, and the supporters.
If FIFA cannot guarantee that all three are treated fairly and equally, then it has failed in its most fundamental duty.
I have loved watching the World Cup since 94 when the German team practiced on my high school's pitch. I refuse to watch any matches hosted in the US during this Cup. I hope others will do the same.
It was a really stupid idea to host the World Cup here. There were plenty of opportunities to change locations. Yes it would have cost a lot of money but at least non-white players, officials & fans would be allowed to play coach & attend the games. The president of FIFA should be ousted asap.
If sexual abuse was really considered a terrible thing, the world's richest and most powerful people wouldn't be abusers. The most valued technology wouldn't produce sexual abuse on demand. And allegations of abuse wouldn't be framed as positive depictions of masculinity. Our culture rewards abuse.
I think it was deliberate. He moved to be in front of the driver quarterpanel and did so to be in front of the vehicle and able to easily move clear. He then pulled his gun and shot as soon as the vehicle moved forward despite the move away from him. The training is to sell the weaponization excuse.
It's so fucked up to have been a kid during the D&D is the devil freakout and the Tipper Gore dirty lyrics freakout and live to see the teen suicide machine get such a pass.
I think something we learned from the COVID supply chain issues is that companies will raise prices to maximize profits in an inflationary environment even if they aren't experiencing those cost issues in their business. This is gonna be brutal.
The fact that the Trump administration is racing toward a recession without a care in the world this early makes me think they have no intention of having national elections in the future.
I was frustrated with The Daily's story on fentanyl production in Mexico. While they mention the Sheinbaum administration taking power one month before Trump, it attributed an apparent crackdown on fentanyl production on Trump's tariff threats and not on the new Mexican administration.
It may be hard for Americans to admit, but Mexico is capable of political change absent American objectives. Correlation is not causation and absent actual data, we can't conclude that the fentanyl crackdown in Mexico is because of Sheinbaum's admin, Trump admin threats, or a combination of both.
So, the tariffs seem less an economic policy for the nation and more an opportunity for Trump and his oligarch-bro pals to short the market before they're announced. A good gig, if you can get it.
I wonder if Trump voters are starting to really remember what things were like in the US during the 2020 election cycle. Or do they still think they had it better then versus how things were at the end of 2024?
The Federal government is big by design. That was the lesson most of the world took from the great depression. It's hard to see what is happening to the US as anything other than them extracting as much wealth out of the government to transfer to the wealthy as possible.
Not sure why more people voted for a person that builds and markets crappy developments principally to launder Russian money to be president of the US, but here we are.
