I think about their misery a lot. Sorry. Their lightner losing hope and them not knowing exactly why and wondering if it was their fault. I wonder if before that they were more actively engaging in creating contraptions. I wonder if seeing spamton praying to that thing and not intervening-

was like their way of indirectly atoning for that while at the same time in some way dreading the worst. I wonder how much it stung to see someone they almost considered a friend spiral downward that hard and feeling like they failed him too despite not knowing what exactly happened

no matter how ridiculous, which aligns well with her anyway, her fun and tuoys! She doesn’t know about the deeper problem, but since they won’t tell her about it, she’ll at least try to give them things to do and ensure they know she appreciates it.

The “bound to her” can be read as metaphorical or literal.. I think they willingly serve her, but their intense devotion could stem from something more (maybe lingering feelings of inadequacy from the neo abandonment) — but whether queen is aware or not, they do their job well and seem to enjoy it—

when they don’t have anything to do, those feelings could start to set in. I don’t think queen pries into their personal life all that much, but she does try her best to make her people happy (with questionable methods sometimes) so maybe she tries to parse that doing work -> swatchs happiness—
