Finally, footage from that new whale graveyard. The fact that fossils and fresh carcasses mix together in this spot is bonkers. But of course it makes sense, because the scavengers that live down there also need a steady supply over millions of years. They can't just suddenly adapt to the deep.

As part of the flyby, crew will lose comm with Earth for ~45 minutes. If they were to emerge from the pass and never regain comm with Earth, we have a protocol for that - called Permanent Communications Loss - that enables the crew to being able to return to Earth without any communications.

I've had on in background NASA's live feed of Artemis II crew observations of moon & conversations with ground -- some just phenomenal exchanges. It's wonderfully messy collisions of tech, distance, humanity, science, observation, language -- eg, "the more I look at the moon, the browner it gets."
