i've seen a lot of international talk on the bus issue from this afternoon, but one thing i haven't seen much talk about is what we did in face of it: we organized ways for voters to give each other rides to the polls! not just cars but even motorcycles, bikes! this was the people's doing!!
I think i did it!
Responsive card container that works with any Control (as long as they are all of the same size) in less than 100 lines!!

Exploring some solutions for a potential deckbuilder page (for my free Ui guide)!
I'm extending a HBoxContainer, but I think I should try with a custom container instead ๐ค

Absolute clown shit, as if we had to wait for AI to be able to make fucking awesome jam games in a weekend, what the HELL are they talking about "wait months to prototype" NO? FUCK NO? Make a game RIGHT NOW you can MAKE A GAME ANYWHEN what the *fuck*
You don't even have to make a videogame just make a fuck-ugly boardgame with pen and paper, or like make up rules for a solitaire with a 52 playing cards deck and write them on lose paper and scan those and post the screencap RIGHT NOW and draw like funny doodles in the margins or whatever
Make a shitty 1-page TTRPG that no one will play and no one will read, make bad interactive fiction with ink, don't use AI for the love of all that is beautiful, DON'T OUTSOURCE YOUR CREATIVITY TO A MACHINE
THE ART IS THE ACT OF CREATION
DO THIS FOR YOURSELF AND FOR ITSELF
"YOU'RE A REGULAR GUY, YOU CAN ENTER A SPACE! YOU'RE A REGULAR GUY, YOU KNOW WHAT SLEEP IS!"
sorry I'm an unusual gay i don't know about either of those things
I hadn't realized that dressmaker was made by the same studio as BROFORCE and genital jousting of all games, I think that's really fucking funny actually
Miriam is launching a new project, a RPG for kids that use the cortex system. If it finance I will be illustrating the whole book with whimsical art!
Please reshare if willing. :3 #ttrpgwww.kickstarter.com/projects/mir...
All of my roommates and myself have been playing dressmaker since release (except one who's playing LoL), it's SO GOOD
But also we're saying shit like, "oh I am OUT OF CONTROL with this strawberry fabric someone stop me" and it's making me chuckle a lot
๐focusing the next months on creating art: small zines, illustration and cool merch!!!
๐ a little wip for the first searchs for character focused zine
Also holy shit I've made my first โฌ from game design doing freelance work????? And the clients were super nice and chill and the mission was really interesting and fun and intellectually stimulating and they were really happy and put my work to use??? What do you mean I'm not completely worthless???
I hate capitalism but I love being able to afford food in order to put it into my body so that I can turn it into more mediocre games until the games become good one day
Fuck it's hard to go back to regular PbtA gameplay now that I've played some Forged in the Dark, I keep thinking in the position / effect framework even when I don't say it, but not being able to say it now feels weird???? But in some way I realise I've ALWAYS thought position / effect
It's such a natural little bit of design, once you lay it bare on the table it just feels like such a powerful tool for the conversation. I love saying things about the fiction with rules words.
Also I can't stop making clocks all the time, but I think that's a feature actually.
I SO WANT to make a total conversion mod of thirsty sword lesbians, within the specific weird urban-fantasy capitalist post-apocalyptic dystopia setting we're playing TSL in, into a Forged in the Dark thing but it's like an entire TTRPG at that point. I must stay focused on my current shit.
I want to share more about what to look forward to in The Archives of Trevosa, our language-translating family-tree deduction game set in a mysterious kingdom, but Iโve been too busy making it!
Hereโs a preview of the lexicon, where you can (optionally) take notes on the words youโre learning.
i asked for the full letibus bundle ( @letibus.bsky.social ) for my bday and i just recieved it!!
Thanks to @faeexe.itch.io for making me (re)discover those :3 Go see her itch, she got a game lok-inspired but with a lesbian mouse in a backpack

If you have to play ONE game during the #gmtk, you should play the game made by @guilloteam.bsky.social
I played it this morning on stream: it's awesome. I really hope it'll go to the top! It would be 100% deserved!
Take your time everyone, and make it count. ๐งกโจ

You KNOW these were good bc the same day, I brought the whole batch to our Daggerheart session, and among 6 people, only 1 of the 12 mini-loaves remained :3
Ran a full season of Girl by Moonlight over 5 days to get the hang of FitD systems with a handful of friends, it was EXCELLENT stuff. (Modded the game quite a bit on the fly and kept calling everything "moves" though.) We were all crying during the last few scenes
So having her be out there, fighting, back in her old engine, at the same time as the PCs but on a completely different battlefield and getting to have cool cut-offs to see her being badass or in dire straits also felt really like a pay-off of the players' actions.
At two like horribly tense moments in the main battle I made the grand admiral and the other pilot spend a link with one of the PC that had like a really strong connexion with them and my players absolutely LOST IT both times and the rolls came up like 1-1-1-2-5 or something it was fucking rad

And so, off-screen, she got the science team to jerry-rig something to transcend with the FLAGSHIP and I had her do that right when threatening harm-4 on another NPC pilot after a failed PC roll, and right as I was going to announce it the player who had informed the admiral earlier got SO excited
And like, one of the other NPC pilot was a middle aged woman who had lost her girlfriend in an attack six years prior, and had lost her engine, and the players had retrieved her engine and repaired it just in the nick of time and were really like supporting her through PTSD

And then I was running like a parallel fight scene going on back home with the NPC pilots that everyone was super attached to, with like, stuff happening after PC action rolls (sometimes even on a 6+), and flashes of what was going on, with them spending their armor, transcendance tracks...
Because of the PC investigations they had discovered that the flagship was powered by the same thing as their engines (hearts from ancient goddesses) and informed the grand admiral, (the first ever engine pilot)

The final battle was so fucking hype, because the girls went into deep space to fight a sort of leviathan general, and they were cut off from the bastion. But the girls had telepathic powers when transcended. And we had NPC pilots back home. And the bastion got attacked

We were playing the "in the sea of stars" series setting, absolutely lovely, I kind of needed to write some aimless thoughts here just because I'm still so steeped in all the characters and crunch I feel like an orphan - like when you're done with a long LARP. It really was a LARP-like experience
I think the engagement rolls are a very, very lovely mechanic, and the "cut to the action" principle is a gem. I don't think I quite managed to use well though. I feel like I was slightly too "precious" with it like the book advises not to be. But for the game we were playing, it felt right, somehow

I kind of modded in some FATE adjacent aspects because I've been using them in the system I'm designing and I was missing them too sorely, it's such a good tool. I've also been using clocks more and more these days so it was fun playing with a system that almost exclusively uses them
(I enjoyed using the aspects as the result for "gather information" and "set up" rolls, felt VERY natural, with some rules like "you can spend an aspect for +1d, increased position or increased effect", then played around with stuff like, "you can only do [this] if an aspect helps you do it", etc)

It took us a little bit of fiddling to find our comfort zone between the rigid structure of the game and our roleplaying habits. It felt like the book *hinted* at some form of free play throughout obligation/downtime/fallout but didn't really *say* it, other than "the GM should ask questions"
So we kind of settled organically into a "we're in free play until someone strikes onto something that feels like their obligation/downtime roll", with some scenes very occasionally calling for action rolls acting as connective tissue between the things
