Alright, everybody, I have an art challenge for you: Draw me your favourite videogame character using just one line That means no lifting the pencil or letting go of the mouse button. All one continuous line, start to finish. Go go go

Tunic. I think the "insists upon itself" is pretty accurate. First off I absolutely hate the title. "Tunic" is a lifeless reference to the least interesting feature of a protagonist of much more interesting games. Might as well call an indie platformer "Overalls", which is actually way funnier.

No hate, no dogpiling, just curious. For me, it's Skyrim. Don't know why, considering it should be exactly my kind of game, but it just didn't click for me.

Since I just finished another top-down soulsy game with a billion secrets, difficult bosses and a cute animal protagonist, Mina the Hollower, I thought to compare them. Mina has some really frustrating challenges too, but I found myself wanting to push through to finish and not fall off like Tunic.

Mina also has charming characters, a thematically coherent world, and a solid plot hook. Tunic has basically no characters, and the main hook is the metaplot gimmick of figuring out the instruction manual. Both games have scary giant shopkeepers but one is a character and the other is kinda spooky.

The game wraps itself in layers of mystery and discovery but with like zero sauce. I didn't find myself engaged in the mystery because the world looked pretty boring and derivative. Plus all the annoying worn out Dark Souls mechanics. I dropped it because the big ancient mech boss was too tedious.

I'll pick it back up eventually because I'm too Zeldapilled to not finish it, and maybe the back half is interesting and the mystery is worth it. I also might have to turn off the combat damage though.

Me, a beginner artist, figuring out what to learn first: "I should draw Voltorb, as it is the easiest pokemon. I can start with a circle and give it angry eyes. Now I will surround it with blue and yellow electricity because that is cool."

Expanded upon the Beatkage idea by making her part of a group of ninja thematically based upon the elements of Hip-Hop: The 4のBeats (Shi-no-Beats). These character sheets were finished a while back, but weren't actually posted (with the exception of the first). Descriptions in the alt text. (1/2)

Last month, I decided to try my hand at VTuber design again -- as it could be a lucrative way to expand my current commission business. This was the best one I'd done, I feel. I may decide to make this design adoptable in the future... Though, I couldn't just sell it to anybody.
