The trade paperback cover was done by @aaronhamm.bsky.social. I remember seeing the palm trees and roller coaster, representing Santa Cruz (where Lexi starts), and thinking about Sonic. For our Playdate game based on Firewatch, we wanted some collectible Forrest Byrnes posters with a creepy and threatening 60s-70s Smokey Bear aura. Scaring kids into not starting fires. So I made these.

It's been pointed out that I say the phrase "indies stick together" a lot. I hadn't noticed it, but I stand by it. It's a good catchphrase for indie gamedevs

I'm not using AI. The thing that melts the planet and kills off jobs to appease capitalist greed. I came by a paid subscription to Claude for a month early on. Saw how crappy LLMs are at things I know how to do (code & art) and decided never again. I'm broke and still won't take an ai job
