Watching Jerma985 with my dad as Jerma says “Virtual Bart was more important to me than Metal Gear Solid II” Wild to hear this as a fan of Jerma since his TF2 days

Pokémon Fossils today! Let's all promise to be nice and respectful about this... not turn it into a gift shop scalping challenge. Let the kids get inspired to learn about the natural world. I just want to see some cool fossil comparisons and peek at a fake worm and a salamander under a log.

The interactive part was cute and I finally got to see the log in action. Shoutout to Janice for the attention to detail posing the worm. The final install looks great.

It was awesome to go behind the scenes again at the Field Museum today. Hopefully I’ll give another brief college lecture about my work later this year. I hope everyone will enjoy all the hard work the team has been putting into the Pokémon Fossil Exhibit.

I love how everyone there genuinely loves to share knowledge. I got a personal tour of the scanning electron microscope today which was very exciting for me. I also got to learn about some in-progress fossil research. Huge thanks to my wonderful pal Peggy, as always.

Just saw Iron Lung with my friends at the big theater! (I famously do not like blood or most horror. I did like the game when it came out a few years ago) As far as production/post goes: it was very well done. I was squeamishly watching the whole time but enjoyed the acting, color grading, SFX, etc.

Anyone else get this unusual green sunrise in #PokemonLegendsZA ? When it happened, I thought it was a story event, but nothing came of it. Only occurred once (11/3, before recent update). The following early morning weather was a little hazy, nothing out of the ordinary. #plza #legendsZA

Just finished another library program teaching kids how Pokémon cards are produced. Then they get to draw their own card following official references and such. Of course for today’s example, I had to do a newly announced Mega. #pokemonZA #pokemonfanart

Does anyone have a digital brush (preferably for CSP) that looks like this palette knife technique (1st image)?? I’ve tried adapting brushes I have and ended up with this (2nd image) but it’s unoptimized and not responsive to stylus pressure in the way the palette knife would be.

Can finally post about this now that I’ve announced it. Been learning about new texturing methods, CGI motion tracking, and a bunch of other stuff to bring Minior to life! 💫 Screenshot is from my 2nd test.

I haven’t played Ch. 4 yet but I love this game so much as a whole. Here is a sketch; playing with negative space 🔪🗡️ #deltarunefanart #art #susiedeltarune #krisdreemurr #deltarunech3

Thanks to everyone who came to my lecture about video game preservation at the library yesterday! It was great to hear that everyone in attendance was genuinely interested in this topic. I hope the Slide Docs and further resources are helpful.

And shoutout to the person who noticed the citations for Small Mario Findings and Toby Fox’s concept art. Hearing an attendee say “Deltarune tomorrow” during Q&A was very affirming. Great questions regarding the Pokémon leaks as well.

By the way, I’ll be part of a presentation at ILA RFN this year. I’m glad for the opportunity to share the wonderful work my colleagues and I have developed over the past few years at the library. (Also I’m excited about the fun PowerPoint because I love making those)

For people who were fans of my Minior irl video… 👀

When I was a kid, my dad told me that a pink elephant lived in the Mindscape office building. I believed that for years and would always keep a lookout for it.

a few years ago i interviewed @frankcifaldi.bsky.social & @kelslewin.bsky.social about their work at the VGHF and why it's important at a former video game producer's house. that person was mark flitman, whose papers are the highlight of the VGHF library launch!

Quite some time ago I saw some incredible puppetry advancements (TiNK) developed by Swaybox and I am still thinking about them. I saw it out of context and thought it was for stop motion puppets (still HUGELY impressive at that) but it’s even more amazing that it’s for real time live action!!

I am so looking forward to the new Professor Layton game 😭💖 if not for the characters and puzzles, then just for the sound track. That OST has given me life since like 2008.

I wonder if at some point there will be a more broadly used phrase that is the equivalent to “disregard all previous instructions etc.” in response to someone who is saying something either unbelievable or uncalled for (obviously stemming from real replies to LLM spam bots).

I’m thinking about how the phrase “chat, is this real?” has become popular outside of live streaming. But of course there are many older examples. I just think it’s interesting how language evolves like that and sometimes imagine what may become part of it in the future.

From my latest video. So happy that this is being positively received; I’ve had this idea for a looong time! I’ve always loved studying animals and the idea of Pokémon as living creatures alongside humans fascinated me since I was a kid.

I’m a public librarian in a degenerating democracy, and I am pleading: Care about your library. Use it. See what programs and events it offers. And pay attention to its governing body. See who the trustees are. Consider running yourself. Libraries will need all the community support they can get. 📚

MY FIRST SUMMER NIGHTS SPLAT FEST BATTLE WAS A x100!!! Shoutout to the random folks on my team for coordinating so well. I love this event’s decorations and colors 💖🥹 #splatoon3 #splatfest
