A Libertarian candidate for state Senate in North Carolina got in a chase with cops, was live-tweeting it, called a local TV station while on the run. He was expressing suicidal thoughts. He's in custody now.

Matt Yglesias is a perfectly calibrated machine to create Discourse despite having only one move: Contrarianism. He uses this Discourse to get more attention, which in turn allows him to create more Discourse. It's a powerful echo effect that will result in his inauguration in 2041.

UNM Hospital (New Mexico's only Level I Trauma hospital) is experiencing a "cybersecurity issue." All ambulances being diverted to other hospitals, clinic appointments canceled, hospital says "UNM Health patients should not show up to UNM Health facilities on October 26."

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

Somewhat bizarre ending to the UNM-SDSU game as NDSU screws up the snap on third down, then the 4th down desperation pass fails. UNM gets victory formation for their biggest win in YEARS.

New Mexico United's Valentin Noël with an absolute THUNDERSTRIKE of a goal to give United the lead in a win-and-you're the one-seed game against El Paso Locomotive in El Paso.

My friend is in Arizona for work and she didn't know which time zone Arizona was in; she googled what time it was and Google's AI overview gave her the wrong time. Luckily she figured it out before being late somewhere.

THREAD 1: The Nuclear Option. Using Presidential Power to Wipe Out EPA Toxics Rules For decades now, Clean Air Act has allowed the president to issue a so-called presidential exemption to at least temporarily suspect a rule intended to protect public health/air quality. I found this from 1973

Lobos go into the half up 14-3 thanks to a big punt return leading to a goal-line TD run with ten seconds to go in the half.

As we're in a weather delay for lightning in the UNM-NDSU game, Marshall Newhouse sideline reporting from inside a lowrider.

I wouldn't be mad if the Lobos switched to turquoise as their main color. The jerseys look so good in all sports.

The New Mexico turquoise jersey with Route 66 helmet is so good.

Wildwood is the most beautiful movie I've seen in a long time. Glad I saw it on the biggest screen possible. The story and dialogue leave a bit to be desired, but definitely worth it. I'm all for the Nike nepo baby just making movies with incredible visuals that make no money every few years.

I know everyone has conspiracy theories, but it expanded to 472 screens last week and only made $614 per screen, which is abysmally bad. So theaters yanked fit rom most of its screens. Got throttled by You Can See Everything.

hang on, so Bleecker Street was sold to a Pierre Omidyar-backed group that also happens to back Tosca Musk's Passionflix... and now "MUSK" is disappearing from theaters?

Thinking of this again as the GOP is campaigning on the same issues as 2024.

If you're fighting the last election against the last electorate in the last political environment, you're behind. I think this is something so many politicians don't realize.
