I've usually had a pretty good discovery feed, but today it is full of AI peddlers, Elon fanboys, and ads for weird companies using AI imagery (Dubai anti-bedbug company? What?). What happened 😭

Not enough references to Tim Curry's Farley Claymore from The Shadow, a disgusting and cowardly sycophant under Khan. His mental breakdown in the end is a sight to behold. One of the greatest adventure movies from the 90s.

Osoff: (says a mean thing about Trump) Est. dems: Now this is a guy who should run for president, he really knows how to trigger the repubs! Mamdani: (makes life better for NYers beyond anything any NY mayor has before) Est. dems: This guy is problematic, can't support.

That said, let us take a moment to thank our Bluesky Trans and Furry Elders for freaking out Jack Dorsey so much he bolted and left us this nice social media playground, taking most of his crypto chuds with him. We thank you for your service.

I curse the god who made me part of a social species, and then made that species so mind-boggingly stupid you'd need an electron microscope to differentiate it from pure evil.

We found gigs and gigs of porn on a cash register computer at a store I worked in. It was easy to find out who did it, by matching the download timestamps with who had made sales on that computer during that time. He vehemently denied it, then quit the day after.

Wolverine's healing powers is basically super cancer. Rapidly multiplying cells, but in an organized and focused way. Anti-tumors.

And you just know the amount they paid for these shitty redesigns would pay for a hundred school teachers for a year.

If you're a writer, write "I waited" without saying it. "This was a problem no tool or argument could solve, only patience. Luckily I had that in spades."

Has another one. If you're a writer, write "I waited" without saying it. “I was excited for Half-Life 3.”

"She's nobody" I slam into my keyboard, commenting on her case just to show everybody that I don't care about her. I only talk about people I don't care about. The more you talk about them, the less you care. That's math, and not the middle eastern kind!

It's only a misdemeanor. A private attorney wouldn't charge her more than $10k. She doesn't need $250k. They'll probably offer her a deal beforehand anyway. I don't know who she thinks she is but she's nobody. A failed candidate without a job and apparently unwilling to get one.

Seeing more & more ostensibly leftist people claim that '16, '24 was stolen by Trump, w/o proof. & I wonder if it's actual leftists who are ok w conspiracy theories if they support their views, or if it's a sock puppet attempt to make both sides fall for disinfo so no one trusts anything any more.

Normalt?

"If you were in charge of Star Trek what would you do?" A sitcom on Earth. Let's step away from Starfleet, what is life like for ordinary people in the Federation? How does a money-free society work? What do people do for fun?

CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

We think of wars as the pinnacle of human violence. The numbers tell a different story. Every year, humans slaughter around 80 billion animals. That's more suffering than all wars combined.

Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show: What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

The fun answer: any of the Culture books (my future utopia) The serious answer: Respect for Nature: A Theory of Environmental Ethics by Paul W. Taylor (my moral guideline for my life today)
