Best approach to RFK's bile right here. Start here and scroll down. I'd heard of one of these awesome people, and I'm always glad to meet more heroes of human knowledge.

No you know what I'm still mad about this, fuck you, you utter plague of rancid fats, I'm gonna learn MORE about this to tell you to go fuck yourself with an electron microscope let's learn about some Arabic contributors to science that won THE EXACT AWARDS he mentioned

Nuclear. Wessels. RIP sir. You helped showed Cold War TV watchers a future in which Americans and Russians were not enemies, but friends. We may or may not ever achieve faster-than-light travel, but humanity can get along if we keep trying.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

So as an American, I won't be so arrogant as to presume I understand Brazilian politics. But it kinda seems like Flavio Bolsonaro is a whiny loser bitch just like his criminal papa. Does that about sum it up?

This recommended article provoked one of my most "old man yells at cloud" reactions yet. Get the fuck outta here with this. Nobody's cookin banana peels.

I've long held a cynical axiom all appeals to first principles - freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and so forth - is presumptively insincere and a naked exercise of power until proven otherwise. Which is why I like seeing Abdul El-Sayed argue for those principles in a way I actually believe.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

I'm so tired, man. I can't believe in any of these guys, not yet. But I still vote in every election, and if I were a Michigan voter, I'd happily vote for El-Sayed and hope like hell he's half as sincere as he seems to be.

This tweet was indirectly responsible for me watching House (Hausu), an absolutely unhinged 1977 comedy-horror film by Nobuhiko Obayashi about a group of teenage girls who visit the country home of one of their aunts, and proceed to get eaten one by one... by the house. There's a cat. It's wild.

Big Streaming doesn't want you to know that Kanopy is kind of like Amazon Prime Video except that you have to pay for Prime and Kanopy is free. Oh also Prime shows ads even though you pay for it and Kanopy doesn't show ads even though you don't pay for it. Oh and Bezos doesn't get Kanopy's data.

I feel like there's an appropriate editorial undertone here of "because he's a dumb, authoritarian, piece-of-shit coward who resents being asked questions about the ways in which he's deliberately harming us", but I guess it's fine to keep that off the news desk.

The script literally describes Bullet 1 entering below the COVID mask of a "fat blue-hair" (who has just run over an ICE agent, an event that DID NOT HAPPEN) - and Bullet 2 entering above the COVID mask of the same. Surprised Dallas Sonnier could type this coherently with both hands on his dick.

Trump took money from my pocket and spent it on a Trump campaign ad. In any serious country, this would result in him being impeached, removed from office, and criminally indicted for grand theft.

Glad to see a journalist recognizing this for what it is. We just went through this with Meta's PR push to lie to us about how hard they were working to protect teens on Instagram. Self-regulation is bullshit 100% of the time unless it has external financial or legal consequences attached.

I don't have anything pithy. I've been to a couple games in the stadium named after Amazon's lie about climate change. I even once received a market research survey asking me if I was aware of Instagram's efforts to protect kids and teens.

Corporate PR should be met with skepticism bordering on contempt 100% of the time. A business is what it does, not what it says it does.

Wow, that thing everyone's talking about how they're not gonna watch looks artless and inessential af. Actively doing harm to the trans community is enough of a reason not to watch it. But they're also just doing a longer, shittier retread of 25-year-old artistic choices, and like, who cares?

I'm really not sure why any media types think I should be offended that @abdulelsayed.bsky.social said we should care as much about millions of Americans dying needlessly of COVID as we did about thousands of Americans dying on 9/11. That seems like a pretty reasonable position.

Yeah, I remember 9/11. I remember when the Republicans tried to stop the first responders from getting their horrible chronic health problems paid for. Just like they're gutting the VA now. Republicans love dudes in uniform as long as their bodies are in good shape.

It seems like the concern-trolling at work here is that they really want me to have the memory of a goldfish and respond like a clapping seal to the sloganeering they use to sell the ways in which they constantly, materially, and deliberately make my life shittier to enrich themselves. Nah bro.

I can see why the GOP, a rapacious death cult, would feign offense about it. Their fundamental position is that going to war (for any reason) is good and improving public health outcomes is bad, and any attempt to tie one to the other (given the zero-sum nature of public funding) is bad.

What a remarkable story. I don't have any pithy observation about the triumph of creativity and the human spirit, but trying to do one last creative pursuit while your ailing mind can still manage it is life at its finest. It's not raging against the dying of the light. It's...dancing while you can.

The response to this kind of shit is to say that these people are not eligible for the WNBA draft because "We aren't gonna hire a dumb troll piece-of-shit has-been crybaby bitch." Repeat as needed. When the right-wing media shows up to pretend to care, respond with 💩 (or actual feces).

They mean "people with charisma" because they envy them. They also mean "people who are fragile and tightly wound", which is just "people" with extra steps. They also mean they're unimaginative and peaked in high school. They contain multitudes! Theatre kids, that is. Not right-wingers.

"Theatre kid" is tossed around by right-wingers, and I want to say: - I wasn't a theatre kid. - I have a theatre kid, they're great. So are their friends. - If you have a problem with theatre kids you should look into your heart to see why or crawl back into your hole and die. Either's fine by me.

Wow, I've been listening to old Dragnet and other old time radio stuff, and I recognize her name and voice. I was used to everyone from those shows being long gone. Hell of a life and career. RIP Peggy Webber.

We here at #BMovieManiacs wave a sad goodbye to one of our favourite actors, Peggy Webber. Screaming Skull was always a hit on BMM. She was also one of the regulars who showed up on Dragnet, playing all sorts of characters. She lived to be 100. Rest in peace, Peggy.
