six months later: πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ The United Kingdom has withdrawn from Eurovision 2027, following an inability to find an act that was willing to perform at the contest.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ The BBC's search for the United Kingdom’s #Eurovision 2027 entry is underway. ESC Project Director David May, Executive Producer/Head of Delegation Andrew Cartmell, BBC Music, Introducing, Studios Entertainment Production and Entertainment Commissioning are scouting for acts.

Of course that won't happen. The UK's music industry is fucking huge and the BBC doesn't exactly have the same pressure points as the Netherlands did. (well, their system is a bit weird and allows the pressure that led to NPO withdrawing) But, it's funny to imagine.

It's kinda funny that Microsoft has this page, yet the one feature that would help my ADHD is not even a Windows feature and I had to rely on someone else's vibe-coded tool to get what I want. support.microsoft.com/en-us/access...

Found an app on Windows for managing virtual desktops and auto-assigning windows to them - DesktopShift. Pretty much what I missed on KDE tbh. Seems to be vibe-coded but I don't care - when you've got ADHD and need automatic window rules like what it provides, you don't have a choice on Windows lol

Window rules and a more robust virtual desktop system makes KDE the better environment for ADHD specifically. Although, you *will* run into problems with Linux not having apps you need and WINE/Proton not working all the time so, I guess that nerfs KDE.

With the news of the AI bubble popping in China, it seems like America is getting desperate too. Anthropic is telling investors that "AI is big scawy and will kill us awl :(" and OpenAI gave everyone a free month of ChatGPT Plus.

IDK if I wanted a better desktop or better app support, so I brought the part of the better desktop I want to the one with better app support, basically.

What happens when the sex ed in the UK is absolute shite. Online Safety Act isn't gonna change that either.

I am a doctor. I wish that I could prescribe dildos to people. We could in the Victorian era. The amount of people these days getting random household objects stuck in their arses is getting ridiculous. Please, you're an adult, just get a proper and safe dildo, for fuck's sake.

while you port and emulate games, I ported Jira to my PSP

It seems like the pendulum has swung the other way in Serbia and Hungary. I wish we had that in Britain. as a Brit, Serbia should celebrate this victory. Even for one night, they can 100% feel like they're better than the UK - and they're right to do so. :P

The infamous "WET YOURSELF..." Super Mario Sunshine print ad is often posted online without context, leading many to believe it is fake or fan-made. However, it is very much real, appearing on page 130 of issue 119 of the British Nintendo Official Magazine.

Linux has ruined the Jamiroquai song "Virtual Insanity" for me now. It's a great song but when I think of that song I think of the fucking Linux audio meme and start laughing to myself.

I am having to come well into terms with the fact Evangelion (both NGE and Rebuild) is my comfort anime series. I think it's cuz the series shows it's okay to not have things figured out, even when things are fucking dire. There's comfort in that, even when the series about an impending apocalypse.

ngl once I stopped following people like Chris Titus Tech who have Opinions on Linux, I've enjoyed it more. Much like my experiences with AI/not using AI, the best way to solve Linux Discourse is to actually use the bloody thing *your* way rather than listening to strangers on the internet, lol.

ngl inflatable tf is fucking hot but i don't like the whole "ooooo perma tf you're gonna stuck like this forever" trope, i feel uncomfortable with that for tf in general. not gonna yuck ppl's yum, just setting my boundaries is all :P

For the past week or so I've been using CachyOS, and I'm not sure if I'll commit to it. There is one thing though: KDE is a godsend for my focus, so I'll keep it somehow. I just dunno how that's gonna manifest at the moment.

Ironically enough, *not* committing to it has kept this partition on longer than I should have. I do think about distro-hopping but honestly, I'm too old and medicated for that shit - for all its flaws Cachy is my bread and butter. (also pls don't mention Windows, I dont care how much you hate MS)

Tbh just having it on here is contributing to the slow and painful death of perfectionism-focused OCD in me, so that is a huuuuge fuckin bonus. :3
