Has anybody ever used this polyester(?) floss? This kit came as a freebie, and I do have a couple of other kits I bought that came with it, but they aren't in my current queue, and I've never used it before. I figured that if I made any mistakes, doing it on the free one won't feel so bad.

My life didn't improve this week. I washed the dog bowls because they were gross from the meat I gave them when the refrigerator died. Then I took one dog out. Came back in, and the house was hot and humid. Put the dog up, and could hear water running at the sink. Check the faucet, and reality hit.

I opened the cupboard under the sink and found this. I tried turning the water off, but I have arthritis in my wrists and couldn't do it. I called my roommate to see if she knew where an inside water shut off was, but she didn't. She came to turn it off, and she couldn't. She had to call the water

company to shut it off at the street. The hot water ran under the sink for well over an hour. I have enough water for the dogs for two days, no money till the first, I can sort of cool down what drinks I've scrounged, but it would be nice if things would stop breaking.

I'm house sitting for a friend. I took one of my dogs out for about half an hour, switched dogs, and when I came back in, the refrigerator was making a terrible sound. It turns out the compressor was going. I tossed three tall kitchen trash cans with hers and my food. The dogs got all the meat. 😇

She won't be home until next week. At least I always have a large stock of ramen for snacks and emergencies. Neither one of us gets paid until next month (thankfully, not too far away). I love ramen, but even that gets old. At least I can get drinks to cool in the freezer, so I rescued the cheeses.

🧵 So I finally broke down and bought new sandals because I couldn't find one of my old ones. It was torn at the heel, and I was going to just fix it because it still has a lot of life and is comfortable. TWO DAYS after I get my new sandals, my feet suddenly swelled (don't worry, I've been to the dr)

The dr didn't know what was up, so I got blood work and a urinalysis. Crickets, so it must not be serious. When the dr opens today, I'm going to chase up my results. In the meantime, I had to order different sandals that will fit my giant 8649 feet. Enjoy my pretty sandals while I can't.

If the United States stopped for more than a day, it would collapse. You obviously can't have first responders or healthcare workers on strike, but I remember the trucker's strike of 73-74. It led to positive change.

Miami just canceled its November election & pushed it to 2026. No public vote, just canceled. Mayor Suarez & Joe Carollo get to stick around an extra year. This feels like a power grab. If one city can delay elections for “participation,” what’s to stop others from doing it to silence opposition?
