1/4 At ICE’s Krome Detention Camp in Florida, Cuban immigrants formed a human "SOS" on the patio—desperate to alert the world. The facility is nearly 200% over capacity. Built for 600, it now holds 1,700. People sleep on floors, eat only a cup of rice a day, and go without medical care.
FAU PD was going to come speak with Student Government tomorrow (Friday) and when sent the questions beforehand (all about 287(g)), they cancelled the visit.

If ICE agents believe they have blanket immunity or that citizens have no right to record them, it’s up to the rest of us to disabuse them of that error.
A free society depends on public oversight of government force, and on courts that uphold that freedom. @walterolson.bsky.social
ICE’s rampant technology spending raises the possibility of "targeted surveillance, not just of undocumented people, but of American citizens as well,” EFF’s @cooperq.com told @Axios.com. www.axios.com/2025/10/21/...
Yes, it kinda sounds like MTG just learned that her office tracks calls. And yes, she's mostly fighting for the ACA tax credits bc her adult children are on it...
But this is why calls are important! Reps always need "cover" when they break party line, and constituent calls are their best argument.

Commentary: Surely a judge who sentences convicted criminals to prison is as much at risk as ICE agents, yet the notion is absurd that judges should be anonymous or allowed to mask their faces in the courtroom.
ICE isn’t just tapping into government databases — it’s also tapping into local police scanners, EFF’s @MGuariglia.bsky.social said on an @nyu.edu panel. “ICE is buying millions of people’s geolocations and weaponizing all government data toward immigration.”

Alongside @404media.co, we sued DHS demanding they hand over a copy of an agreement that shares the personal data of nearly 80 million Medicaid patients with ICE.
We believe it’s important for the public to see this unprecedented data sharing agreement.
State-run extrajudicial immigration black sites like Alligator Alcatraz allows politically connected individuals to make hundreds of millions of dollars off Florida’s taxpayers at the expense of jailed migrants, while those held are stripped of their access to legal counsel and due process.

With the opening of the Everglades Detention Center, cruelly dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz", a spotlight has been cast on Florida's notorious detention centers. However, this
Latest: Friends of the Everglades passed along this picture of freshly laid blacktop at the "Alligator Alcatraz" detention camp, taken by pilot Ralph Arwood on September 26.
I was there a week or so prior, and there were construction trucks pouring out of it.

“It was released, not publicly, but leaked, that the Alachua County School District released guidance to all its schools that would allow someone saying they’re ICE to detain a student without a warrant or question them without parental knowledge or consent”
I think it's a sign of how cowed the American media is that we're getting pieces like "you have to understand, in Korean culture, it's considered very rude for someone to lock you in a brutal prison camp for a week for no reason." Like yeah, any free people would be offended by that?
