The final day of Forestpaths' fourth Policy Lab is focused on #policyrecommendations. Participants are reviewing proposals informed by the past two days, identifying areas of agreement and noting where differences or qualifications remain before the project moves towards its final synthesis. #PL4

The day closed with an interactive discussion led by Sarah Adams (@efieuropeanforest.bsky.social) that gathered ideas for ForestPaths' final papers, using a free-form brainstorm grouped live into themes for discussion.

@mikkopel.bsky.social (@luke.fi) presented the current status of integrated pathway results, combining forest and wood-product carbon balances at the European level. The work explores mitigation, biodiversity, and trade-offs across food production, employment, and gross value added.

@tompugh.bsky.social (@lund-university.bsky.social) shared forest management modelling work using GLOBIO, EFISCEN-space, and LPJ-GUESS, looking at biodiversity, carbon sinks, and harvest levels across ForestPaths' pathways and exploratory cases. 🌲

Joanna Raymond (@kit.edu) provided an overview of land-use modelling work, using three models (CRAFTY, PLUM, and IMAGE) to analyse land-use change, forest management, climate mitigation, and ecosystem services for ForestPaths' pathways.

The meeting continued with Gloria Marsano and Marc Gramberger (Prospex Institute), who gave an update on Policy Lab 4. The final lab will evaluate forest policy pathways, compare trade-offs across visions, and shape policy recommendations. 🌲 More on the policy labs: forestpaths.eu/policy-labs
