So 45% of voters in Michigan still support the Republicans!

Brent Toderian@brenttoderian.bsky.social

If we didn’t know that the Republicans will be attempting unprecedented levels of cheating, well beyond just voter suppression (which IS cheating), this would be comforting. But they will, so every one of those blue votes need to show up and #VOTE no matter how hard it is. Turn out wins elections.

Hopefully whoever the next mayor of Taipei is will read this

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

That orange lunatic is by far the greatest threat to the US and to the rest of us Lock him up!

This is just pure racism. Republicans objectively are campaigning on little more than bigotry.

Housing affordability has shifted dramatically worldwide. In 1985 a home in the US took 3.7 years of full-time pay to buy. Now you pay 6.4x. Meanwhile, Hong Kong remains the least affordable at over 20 years. Source: buff.ly/Aerd2IV

It sounds like Trump thinks the “Taiwan problem” is Taiwan.

Born 24 October 1936, Bill Wyman, bassist with the Rolling Stones. As well as his band success, he had a solo hit in 1981 with "Je Suis Un Rock Star." He wrote the song for Ian Dury, but finding that he couldn't interest Dury in it, he reluctantly recorded the song himself. He's 90 today. #BillWyman

Most things have got better in my lifetime. People were poorer in the 80s, our school sports field was next to a rendering plant, there was more violence and racism in society, the roads were more dangerous, the food was worse. Sorry to the online world dealing in faux nostalgia.

What most people don't know: when you fill up a petrol car most of the energy never moves it. Petrol car: 13–21% of the crude oil's energy reaches wheels. Electric car on today's UK grid: 43–45%. Electric car on wind+solar: 77–80%. That's why we don't need to replace fossil energy one for one.

It's an enormous moral stain on the US that the orange lunatic rapist is still their President and they don't seem to be making much of an effort to change that situation

I guess it makes sense but I never realized that the United States *literally ended all new car production and sales between 1941 and 1946* I don’t think modern minds can comprehend the social and economic disruptions that earlier generations faced
