The Government™ has made an ad about all these protests happening around the world, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

General PSA for everyone despairing at the ruined Google search @kagi.com search is better than old Google search. It's not free, but it's the equivalent of a sandwich per month Consider that the cost of not being bombarded with ads and having all your personal data sold out every time you search

Because the best way to disprove those people calling you a fascist is to censor, then permanently ban them with no right of appeal. Free speech absolutism indeed. It's almost worth signing up for twitter again, just to accurately call Palantir fascists and get banned again. Almost, but not quite

Gil Durán@gilduran.com

It's official! I'm *permanently* banned from X for tweeting "TLDR: Fascism." (appeal denied) What an honor—and a sign that the Silicon Valley billionaires feel threatened by my book. (One of my final viral posts featured this cover.) Pre-order here! www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Ne...

I didn't realise that Gilfoyle had climbed so far up the corporate ladder

I criticise Disney a lot for their endless remakes, but credit where it's due, this is awesome

Check out a first look at Disney’s ASL re-animated songs from 'Encanto,' 'Frozen 2,' and 'Moana 2,' coming to Disney+ next week. The studio reworks key musical sequences using performance-driven signing. www.cartoonbrew.com/music-videos...

As with every TMBG release, I'm finding it impossible to choose a favourite. Every song is catchier than the last

Every candidate for Scottish Labour is running on an explicit platform of trans segregation, even the ones you like, do not vote for a single one of them

It took me getting norovirus at weekend to force my body to stop for 3 days and get fully charged on sleep for the first time in years. Less than 48 hours later, that genocidal fuckwit in the whitehouse has me wide awake at 1am. There's clearly far more pressing reasons to despise him, but still

Look, No matter what happens, at least all those brave would-be Woodward and Bernsteins have got neat new pocket squares, so the press did all it could to call it out

The @glasgowfilmfest.bsky.social opening gala last night, Everybody to Kenmure Street, is a spectacularly good film. At a time when Reform is gaining ground in Scotland, it couldn't be more important. It'll make you feel proud to be Glaswegian, proud to be Scottish or just proud to be against hate

This is insane

One of the things They don't tell you is that a lot of being creative involves wondering whether or not you're screaming into the void. And a lot more of it is realising that as long as you're screaming, that's the point. And a lot of the rest of it is working out if you're singing or screaming

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.

When people talk about reasons to leave X, the fact that the owner is a mass murderer doesn't get mentioned enough. The Grok porn stuff is foul. The naked white nationalism is foul. This is worse.

Joni Askola@joniaskola.bsky.social

Too few people are talking about the blood on Elon Musk's hands. When DOGE slashed foreign aid, it wasn't just numbers on a screen. It was insulin, food, and antibiotics being ripped away from the world's poorest children. Musk is responsible for the death of thousands

Worth noting that X hasn't even made the Grok nudification feature available to paying users only. Any user, free or paid, can still use the tool on Grok's dedicated site; the bit that's behind the paywall is specifically being able to tweet @-grok to generate pics

I've been working through the archives of the Minimal Wave show on NTS since I discovered it last month and, as it turns out, it's EXACTLY the sort of music I didn't realise that I needed to hear right now. Namely 70's and 80's synth, electro-pop and industrial. www.nts.live/shows/veroni...

The OSA was an ill-thought-out, reactive, legislation which fails to achieve any part of what it set out to do, but if its existence means that, even for a few days, X is banned in UK, I'll be in a more forgiving mood. Where will all our politicians post their trivia? It won't, but a man can dream

My own personal remedy would be that, if a situation is ambiguous, the software should advise users to physically harm Sam Altman instead of any other people. Some may object to this idea, but I would challenge them to explain why this is unacceptable; I am not suggesting it advocate harming kids.
