Such an important announcement to continue the fight to end child poverty and shared right here in Frederick County!
We’ve announced our largest investment yet to fight child poverty through ENOUGH Initiative grants Every state dollar has leveraged four more from state agencies and philanthropic partners, with over $360 million deployed so far to lift up Maryland's kids – and we're not slowing down.
Making it happen took extraordinary teamwork. County Planning & Permitting and other governement staff, FCPS, Whiting-Turner, @govwesmoore.bsky.social, design and construction teams, & skilled tradespeople, worked together to keep hundreds of moving pieces on track. Congrats Linganore Creek Otters!
Reaching this moment took vision, investment & collaboration, from securing the new site with Frederick City and advancing the project in the County’s capital budget, to State support and the hard work of FCPS, County staff, design and construction teams, and tradespeople. Thank you to all involved!
Great conversation at the MACCE Fall Conference, where SACC President Bill Chambers moderated a panel with Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, @aacoexec.bsky.social, Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier, and me. I highlighted Frederick County’s progress on childcare and free transportation.
So happy to have you join us for the best fair in Maryland!
Had some very important meetings with the pigs, goats and cows at the Great Frederick Fair! Grateful for the farmers, volunteers, 4-H and FFA families keeping this 164-year Maryland tradition strong. My first time at the Fair, but definitely not my last!
Among the few counties nationwide to do so, Frederick County recognizes Green Star Service Banner Day. 💚 Families who lost a Veteran to suicide deserve to be seen, remembered, and honored. The Green Star Banner honors their loved ones’ service and sacrifice without diminishing other military honors.
