Hello to all new followers! I'm not nearly as creative as the rest of you but I'm hoping nobody will notice. I host a podcast I started a few years ago called Keep Off The Borderlands all about struggling to get my game on. I still talk more than I play.

#RPGaDay2026 Day 32: "Edge" Show me an edge and my thoughts immediately turn to what lies beyond it. The edge of town, the edge of the forest, the edge of a map. Having a lifelong fascination with ambiguity, tabletop roleplaying feels like the perfect home for the terminally curious. #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 28: "Devotion" This reminded me of a Black Hack campaign I played in with a character seeking redemption. On encountering some extra terrestrial beings, he became convinced they were angels and swore his allegiance to them, effectively becoming a bloodthirsty zealot. #OSR #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 26: "Regret" It's difficult to talk positively about regret. I regret being away from the hobby for so long. I regret losing touch with those I used to play with. I regret spending time watching from the sidelines when rediscovering the hobby. Just play to find out. #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 21: "Charity" This got me thinking about all the great RPGs that are absolutely free. Swords & Wizardry, Basic Fantasy, Risus, Stars Without Number, Worlds Without Number, Fate Condensed, Mausritter, Cairn 2E, Mork Borg (Barebones), not to mention all the free SRDs. #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 19: "Desire" My first thought is the desire to play more frequently and explore some of the amazing worlds waiting within the pages of the books on my shelf. Games like Barbarians of the Ruined Earth, Swyvers, Ultraviolet Grasslands, and Dolmenwood, to name but a few. #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 18: "Directness" I appreciate clarity and concision when it comes to RPG rules which is why I'm such a fan of Chris McDowall's Into The Odd. One of the few rulesets I understood just by reading them. A game that has inspired many others including Chris' own Mythic Bastionland. #NSR

#RPGaDay2026 Day 17: "Intensity" Nothing ramps up the tension like a countdown. I think Brandish Wilhelm's Index Card RPG was the first game I encountered the idea of using dice as a visible countdown for players. It's full of great tips for maintaining momentum. #ICRPG #DnD #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 16: "Composure" Keeping calm and collected is not something that comes natural to many of my characters. I'm currently playing Norm O'Neill, a 2nd storey guy, in the Call of Cthulhu campaign Shadows of Yog-Sothoth on Grizzly Peaks Radio.

#RPGaDay2026 Day 13: "Strain" I do enjoy a good funnel like Julian Bernick's The Laughing Idol of Lar-Shan for Dungeon Crawl Classics' Dying Earth setting, but why are they called a funnel when they more like strainers? #DyingEarth #DCC #TTRPG

#RPGaDay2026 Day 12: "Loss" Fatherfog is Alan Gerding's fairytale horror based on the Mothership rules. Characters begin with 100 Hope. Failing a stat check is of several ways to lose Hope. You must roll a Hope Save each time you experience something horrific or roll a Critical fail.
