Motivation is utterly shot and with that I'm acutely aware of a lack of practice. On the one hand since I've had so little energy to draw it follows that when I manage it I end up with less than diagnostic results; on the other I can't help but feel like I'm getting worse with what I *do* manage.

the concern i guess is that doing something for the sake of artist sona character nonsense feels especially like i'm getting up my own ass about it, but there's a lot of other people who've done similar, and the alternatives are kinda just gibberish.

like i got tired of getting called "Northrop" on Twitch so i changed my screenname there to "Northiradh" which is just, like, not a word. that was going to be a dragon name but it's not in use anymore and is literally Just A Noise anyways so i don't think it's better.

As is probably quite obvious my art motivation is at a low. Given I was just in the hospital for a bit I don't think it's too surprising but I just keep opening CSP and Blender and just kinda zoning out without doing anything.

I think I'm getting hit with the "where do I start" loops really bad. It feels like there's some prerequisite piece I'm not done with yet but also might not be as achievable so I get caught in an indecisive loop which, yes, is textbook for my Mental Illnesses, but I especially feel bad lately.

I should start using Lovecraft beasties as sketch/model fodder. Like it's becoming a peeve of mine that Shoggoths seem to be used for the basis of everything in a lot of existing depictions when things like the Yith and Elder Things are implied to be a lot more orderly in form than them.

I might be doing that one ragebait Edgar Allen Poe comic here but Lovecraft does come off as having some genuine interest in paleontology and biology and a lot of the more neutral species don't seem to be horrific so much as startling and physically imposing.
