I hate how these banks seem to attack our lifestyle like they own it.

Been on FA since early furry days and even had FA Plus. I won’t support this. Even with SFW filters, fetish posts still flood the site. It feels more like a fetish site than a furry one now. Some great artists came from it, but I’ve moved on.

Got a month of FA+, but added a tip to double it. It's not much, but I hope to give more once things stabilize on my end.

I haven't liked some of the recent changes they made to their art policy, but I know that's because they had to bend the knee to pussy ass advertisers to keep the lights on, so definitely heed their word

I can't donate anything right now, but I will repost this to give it the boost it needs and deserves.

Been doing email hosting since 2001 and have a solid reputation associated with the server IP and am more than happy to work with FA on what y'all need; it's a stable service that has 99.9%+ uptime and I personally have 25+ years of IT experience to keep things up and running.

Reading what the shockingly useless 3P advertisers consider to be "adult content" is making my blood boil and wishing the decision makers at those companies a very painful death from genital infections. I don't have the income for FA+ but I will contribute to the GFM when I can.

The political landscape and the corporate push for censorship is dire But aiming to eliminate third-party advertising, and to instead focus on funding the site from within the community is exactly what every serious website needs. Please consider adding optional, higher tiers of FA+ support. I can easily spare $15-$20 a month for a site I use almost daily, but it's difficult for me to remember to to manually donate. you don't even need to offer me new perks. Just like a different colored paw would be cool.

Saw your message on the site. I'm looking at your advertising rates and will see if I can put something together. That sucks that advertisers have concerns over "adult content"... I can't help but think they are being pressured by their puritanical payment providers.

I can't do another subscription, but I gave my 20. And I'll do so again when I can. It's the least I can do.

For the people with some spare cash If you go on the FA shop, you can donate FA+ to other people, as long as you copypaste the username in the URL! They even have discounted bundles for months, years, and even lifetime! If you have a friend who would enjoy FA+, and can't donate, gift it to them!

With a community like furries, there should be a lot more official FA merch. I'd love to see more stuff in the shop. Even if it was just more of what is already there (like shirts, mugs, stickers) instead of branching out, that would be good.

Personally I'd say the 'view way more items on a single page' is a good feature for viewers that you get for being a subscriber!

Considering the amount of bullshit they're getting from payment processors, it's possible Patreon would just ban them eventually. To be clear, this isn't a bad idea. But they *will* go after FA for all the stuff they host.

Unfortunately Patreon is most likely a ticking timebomb before they give NSFW and anything NSFW the axe, they cave in real easy to payment processor demands.

Patreon is a trap, not only is it just as restrictive as the advertisers when you get their attention if taken down the site loses all funding. Better to directly fundraise.

Our household was talking about this too! I know a ton of artists in the fandom (myself included) that would love to contribute to an annual charity stream.

There's definitely precedent for something like this too. Aside from GDQ, Hank & John Green host the Project for Awesome every year to raise funds for Partners in Health. Its essentially a 48 hour variety show of art, creators from a variety of fields. I bet the furry community could do similar.

It's a debate that has been had many times, but iirc the only requirement to being a furry is simply identifying as one. If you feel like you're a furry but haven't done anything, congrats you're a furry.

Everyone has their own definition and there seems to be no clear answer. I do agree that engaging with the fandom in a positive and meaningful way does kinda put you in the fandom by default. The "very technical reason" why I can't call myself a furry is because I don't have a fursona... yet :P
