Listen in to the second episode of Hidah, interviewing rabbinic scholar Daniel Boyarin on Gaza, diasporism, and the future of Jewishness:
Brought to you as part of @fromtheperiphery.comwww.patreon.com/posts/hidah-...
For ep.2 of Hidah, we sit down with Daniel Boyarin, one of the most influential scholars of the Talmud and rabbinic culture and the author of "The No-State Solution: A Jewish Manifesto" to talk about Gaza, the moral responsibilities of Jews, and the future of Judaïté.

Hidah is available on all podcast apps and is hosted by @danielvoskoboynik.bsky.social, Yonathan Busquila Listik and Alexia Levy-Chekroun.
Producers are Hannah Dvora & Elia @ayoub.bsky.social
Go watch my new video essay. Not only so you can better understand the current war, but also to familiarize yourself with, imo, the most powerful and inspiration - and yet most neglected - revolution of our times.
In this time where Jewish trauma is often metastasised as far-right colonial violence, this burst of radical, queer, border blurring decolonisation is so refreshing and inspiring. They also entwine gracefully from global decolonialisms so it is not only interesting for Jews.

Elia and Esraa spoke to my dear colleague Maram Humaid about daily life in Gaza.
So much of the news has focused on the horrifying images, the deaths, the amputations.
Amid all that, so many have to keep surviving. This is what they discuss.
We spoke to Gaza journalist Maram Humaid about the many layers of Israel's genocide @thefirethesetimes.com. There was even an Israeli airstrike nearby during our recording.
The full episode is available for free here www.patreon.com/posts/tftt-1...@fromtheperiphery.com
Listening to this is a MUST. Palestinians in Gaza are at a breaking point. Journalist Maram Humaid describes the unbearable situation, how people survive and how many Palestinians (youth, those with young kids) increasingly want to leave the Strip, no matter what.

I edited this episode. It's really powerful. Hearing Maram speak at length about her daily life in Gaza under Israeli siege and bombardment is just ... I don't know how to communicate how privileged we are to hear the stories of someone resisting genocide. We need to listen, we need to do more.

Amos Goldberg is an Israeli historian of the Holocaust who called Israel's war on Gaza a genocide. He joined @ayoub.bsky.social to talk about the ways 'intent' is used to mislead the public, and whether the field of Holocaust and Genocide Studies is in crisis.

post-🎧 reflections:
the Bund & the concept of "Hereness" mirrors the practice of mutual aid in that both ask of us to start w. where we are & what we have. both ask of us to stop looking outward for solutions & instead build & invest in our current geographical temporality.

Doikayt Now! @mollycrabapple.bsky.social joins @ayoub.bsky.social to talk about the Bund and how their concept of ‘Hereness’ can help us build a better world than the hellscape being proposed by techno-dystopianism and end-time fascism.

🌻 Hello again #Solarpunk friends! 🌻
I found a brilliant video by @fromtheperiphery.com featuring @pheebz.bsky.social that discusses Solarpunk storytelling. I like this discussion in particular because of the conversation around stories that can bring Solarpunk from fiction to reality.

Today marks 50 years since the Civil War started in Lebanon. It remains one of those most misunderstood conflicts of the 20th century. We commorate this occasion by doing a deep-dive episode, of the many wars that raged in Lebanon since 1975.

There is nowhere near enough discussions on Sudan, where the humanitarian situation is being described as the worst in human history. I sat to talk with two brilliant Sudanese commentators @bsonblast.bsky.social and @dalliasd.bsky.social to talk about war and more:
