I'm Susan. I'm a dog! Of some type o mix! A party mix! πŸŽ‰ My mom was a border collie mix we think. I'm rescued from FERN (Vancouver Island). I live on a farm with pancake named cats @shortcats.bsky.social and it's pretty fun being a dog.

This is one very photogenic dog, and another equally photogenic dog with some brutal seasonal allergies. 13/10 for both (TT: lisa.bean123)

Dear #dogsky, It would have been this good girl's 17th birthday today (this photo was taken on her 5th). She didn't quite make it, but is in our hearts and we're celebrating it as it should be! Happy birthday Tig, you beautiful girl you! I love you so much. xoxo Your forever human.

Remember that working dogs LOVE to DO STUFF. So if you see a video of a working dog breed doing a training activity with their human, *they want to do this*, incessantly, more than anything else. If you have lived with one, you know this. Even when they are actively passing, it's still there.

"They shouldn't be here/done in the first place" Different topic. Bring that up with the people who caused them to be in the shelter. Meanwhile I will rescue/adopt working dogs and help them live their best life doing the things they most want to do while here on earth.

DOING STUFF and LEARNING STUFF is usually better than food, better than anything. If you think activities is cruelty and you're talking about a working breed of dog, you have very obviously never lived with one. It is blatantly obvious. After all, it's in their DNA.

They want to DO. They want to use their brain. They want to learn. And they want to do it AGAIN. It's cruel to suppress or not allow this. If you see them doing things they learned, this type of dog is doing what they love most and want to do, by choice, until their last day on earth.

Today's #goodnews seems like a true miracle. During a cross country move, Steven stopped to ski & left his dog Rocky with a pet sitter. After Rocky ran into the mountains, Steven contacted Summit Lost Pet Rescue. 43 days later he was spotted on a Ring camera & within hours was captured. 😊

This GOOD BOY ran onto the course during the Women’s Cross-Country Skiing Team Sprint event, crossing the finish line and being automatically recorded by OMEGA’s photofinish camera πŸ˜†

Dr. Crepes & Short Stack (cats)@shortcats.bsky.social

Greetings #catsky, We made the news again! In good way. Our grandma sent this photo to them. She already got Short Stack on the news before, all on his own, now it's finally my turn (albeit, sharing the spotlight). Sincerest regards, Dr. Crepes. PS: The news people said we had "good names."

Tig was too serious to be fundog :) But she was the bestest companion ever, serious but very lowkey. Spud was highkey intensity kelpie/terrier(?) - fearful but wanted to still DO the fearful thing anyway. It might be FUN!

Tig used to calmly get in the way of whatever it was to avert him from trouble. Just as I was noticing Spud was about to trouble, she'd be handling it in her lowkey perfect manner. Perfect helper hip dog ("English Shadow" they're often called. She was.) What a pair. Such great dawgs at the rainbow.

This is Brenda and Linda. They were brought into the shelter together, and Brenda had no interest in being separated from her friend. She jumped the kennel wall to get to Linda, and made sure everyone knew they're a package deal. The best news? It worked: They were adopted together. 14/10 for both
