I remember back in the day people made fun of the Jaguars for drafting Bryan Anger ahead of Russell Wilson because one was a punter and the other won the Super Bowl. but look at who's still in the NFL punting while Russell Wilson is out of the league

Dudes skin is so thin it’s actually hazardous for him to be out there without his shirt on

The wildest part about Pat McAfee's weird comment about the University of Utah is the video that provoked it... *this* is the video that broke him:

The Minnesota Vikings have won all their games. Additionally, they have lost none of their games. All 31 other teams in the NFL have lost at least one of their games. However, we still must ask: Are the Minnesota Vikings good at football?

sports.coolToday in the NFL! The Vikings are undefeated. Are they good?Is it goodif you've won all your games and lost none of them? ALSO: A rare Chiefs blowout, and somehow J.J. McCarthy returned.

Manhattan Bird Alert was one of my favorite Twitter accounts and I just realized they are also on Bluesky!!!!!!!!!

The presence of small migratory birds on the lawns (e.g., sparrows and warblers) has this American Kestrel watching from high above the Central Park Pinetum.

Guy Who Has Thought About This For 10 Minutes voice: They should have moved this game to Cleveland and moved the March 6th Hawks @ Cavaliers game to Atlanta. Arena is empty then. It turns the Hawks back-to-back into a home-road split but teams make that turnaround somewhat regularly

women's sports thrive when you say loud and proud "this is a premier sports product, not a sideshow or a lesser version of the men's game" it's hard to sell that when you put the WNBA game before the NBA game like they're the JV team

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

big failure from the NBA to not get two of its teams to move one (1) regular season game. the NBA owns 42% of the WNBA (functionally more, since a lot of NBA owners own teams) and should be invested in wanting the league to grow, even at minor expense to its more popular product

I am enjoying the idea of the newly crowned WNBA champions, absolutely wasted after a raucous hours-long champagne celebration, hitting the Atlanta clubs at 6 p.m. on a Thursday

BREAKING: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be held Thursday at 12:30pm ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It will be a double-header with the Atlanta Hawks’ game, which will be moved to 8pm.

it would have been better for them to play in the smaller venue at night than the bigger one in the afternoon, when fans won't be able to go and fans won't be able to watch on TV. big mistake huge imo

we need this series to go 7, we can't have a team celebrating the championship at 4 p.m. on a weekday and trying to wrap it up in time for them to change over the locker room for the guys

brutal for the tailgating scene. how are the BYU fans gonna get a sugar rush that early in the morning. they're gonna be out there shotgunning the jelly out of jelly donuts to get a buzz

Chris Vannini@chrisvannini.com

News: The Utah-BYU Holy War game on Nov. 7 will be a 10 am local kickoff on ABC or ESPN. That is just brutal for fans for a likely top-10 matchup.

It makes me really happy that with all the handwringing about NIL, portal, dumb congressional labor smashing, and the rest of the miscellaneous horseshit, this sport can still deliver a truly idiotic product. Can’t break something that was never meant to work in the first place.

it remains nuts that he said this at a college graduation ceremony where women were graduating it remains even more nuts that his mom, who helped put him through private school and get all the training he needed for his big masculine sports career, is an accomplished medical physicist

it sounds contradictory but it's really not. They say "Protect" bc they see women's sports as a cute charity for little girls rather than legit competitions people care about and strive for. They're always baffled when they show up at women's sports and find people who actually care about the games

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...
