We talk endlessly about the economic cost of Brexit. But what price do you put on a generation losing the freedom to simply say: β€œI think I’ll try living in Italy for a year.” Freedom of Movement was an enormous expansion of personal choice. We should want it back.

Of course.....

The Brexit Impact Report 2025 shows 98.2% of UK businesses back rejoining the European Single Market to boost growth. Read the full report and sign the petition for change.

All the con-artists knew it would arrive at this, but were cool with it. Poorer medically, culturally, politically, economically, scientifically, educationally....... Econo-anarchists rejoice. Little Brexitania is degraded, as you hoped. www.theguardian.com/science/2025...

Maybe we should honor the women who were real astronauts. From left to right are Shannon W. Lucid, Margaret Rhea Seddon, Kathryn D. Sullivan, Judith A. Resnik, Anna L. Fisher, and Sally K. Ride. NASA selected all six women as their first female astronaut candidates in January 1978.

Aye.

A president that suppresses truth by undermining the integrity of journalism or objective reality, is no longer a president but an autocrat. The reality is, a rabid fascist is in control of one of the most powerful countries in the world, that’s not even hyperbole. If anything, an understatement.

Can't help thinking these hi-profile biz types should have been much more vocal pre the non legally binding opinion poll. A massacre of personal & commercial rights for UK citizens on their own continent. Tragic.

53 days of Trump. It’s hard to quantify the damage already done. But it’s historic. The world is far more dangerous. America’s reputation is trashed. Trust with allies is broken. Citizens betrayed. Trade wars. Aid withdrawn. How can Republicans bear it? The shame should ruin them. Guilty forever.

Not to mention the savaging of rights, freedoms & protections for UK citizens & businesses across their own continent.

By almost every economic & financial measure Brexit has been disastrous for the UK - the Office for Budget Responsibility says it will reduce the UK’s potential GDP by 4% in the long run by lowering the trade intensity of the economy & its latest report lays bare its catastrophic impact on trade

Yep....

Oh come on Labour - so depressing to hear Pat McFadden say UK has no plans for a youth mobility scheme with the EU. We have schemes with NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan, Iceland, Uruguay & more - only reason not to have one with EU is fear of right wing press. Such cowardice @bbclaurak.bsky.social

You are up to date.
