do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

In nuclear physics, 50 is the fifth "magic number," which corresponds to the stable nuclear shell structure of the element tin ๐Ÿ˜ For me, 50 is the anniversary serial number of my latest Metaframework Records newsletter issue which I wanted to celebrate with you here ๐ŸŽ‰ Next, Nuxt, and some rants.

Cleared the raspberry patch in the garden at last and installed Arch Linux on my MacBook... What a day!

โ€œIt was always perplexing to me that so many of my peers seemed so eager to be across the divide from me; that they were so much more impressed with AI than I was, and so indifferent to what I felt were alarming flaws and drawbacks.โ€œ So relatable ๐Ÿฅฒ (after @collinsworth.dev)

joshcollinsworth.comAI optimism is a class privilegeI think I have an idea why we're so extremely divided on AI: it's because we have an intuitive sense of who it stands to benefit, and who stands to pay the costs. I think whether you see reason for op...

Some weird Codesandbox outage is happening now... Exactly the day and time I needed to check one of the projects there after 57 years of having the link bookmarked...

Another gem from the Wasp blog, great and simple explanation ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Most JS devs use npm workspaces every day without knowing how they actually work. I wrote a gentle intro to how they actually work. Turns out it's symlinks and a bit of smoke and mirrors. wasp.sh/blog/2026/03...

Fresh 2.3 is out! It now ships zero JavaScript on static pages by default โ€” no scripts, no bundles, nothing. Also: ๐ŸŽž๏ธ View Transitions, ๐Ÿ”Œ WebSockets, ๐Ÿ”’ CSP nonces, ๐Ÿ“ก OTel trace propagation, and ๐Ÿ• Temporal API support for island props. deno.com/blog/fresh-2.3

Caught myself on the fact that when I'm tired or burnt out I turn one of the bookmarked @frontendmasters.com courses on and it works quite soothing on me... Especially the low-level stuff from Richard Feldman โ€” never saw a person explaining these things in such an engaging and comprehensive way.

Now that I wrote it this way it definitely looks/sounds quite weird and I probably need to visit a doctor ๐Ÿ˜…

The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever. It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.

Just deployed my own lightweight instance of Forgejo on Railway from a Docker image found through a quick Google search... That was just freaking easy, never expected something that sophisticated (I mean, it's kinda my own GitHub and all now) to be that straightforward...

Just have hit publish for the last issue of the Metaframeworks Records in 2025 ๐ŸŽ„ Good stuff and bad stuff as usual, [almost] no judgement as usual, and lots of curiosity and innovation (not the AI innovation everyone shouts about, the real one!), so if you fancy some of it โ€” welcome to the party! ๐ŸŽ†

With everything going on, zero-trust is the only security model that makes sense. Everything is exploitable ๐Ÿ’ฃ โ€” accept it. All we can do is reduce the damage surface through separation and isolation.

Am I the only one who uses FrontendMasters to learn systems programming (almost exclusively)? ๐Ÿ˜… Big fan of Richard Feldman and his way of teaching.

Thatโ€™s becoming a thing that more and more often pnpm sounds like an answer to Node.js security questions
