Hi Bluesky. I gave my first game dev talk ever at GDC earlier this year as part of the Independent Games Summit. I thought it went pretty well which is grand because it was three months of video editing to try and make my subject accessible. It’s free in the Vault gdcvault.com/play/1034466...

Mass Effect was my ultimate white whale, my all-time dream project. For the last couple years I'd been in discussion w/ BioWare & EA to take on the project & as part of that I wrote close to 20 minutes of music to explore where the franchise can go next, may as well share it!

“Forward now, into oblivion's inky embrace.” Darkest Dungeon II is available now on Nintendo Switch 2! Get the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade for improved frame rates, Joy-Con 2™ Mouse support, plus combat and driving speed settings.

Early impressions from the Campaign and Multiplayer is that Star Wars: Galactic Racer is probably the best arcade-style racing game this generation. Essentially the spiritual successor to Episode 1 Racer, Burnout and Motorstorm. It somehow manages to balance that with really neat run-based design.

Played this at PAX, it's very charming.

Sicario: Tokyo Drift. I’m sure Sicario 5 will be the highlight of the franchise.

Forgotten Island is a triumph of Dreamworks and Sony Imageworks getting sheer artistic vision through the studio system and you should support it when it comes out next week. You gotta pee to make them see.

Finally finished a playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses just in time for the release of Fortune’s Weave this week. I mostly liked Three Houses but the pacing of the calendar stat and relationship grind was not my favourite.

I recommend playing Tangle Tower first since there are some nice payoffs. Maybe play Curse of the Swamp too if you want the full story though that game has some annoying bugs.

Lol to this audio calibration warning in Rhythm Heaven. Nintendo has a history of being dissatisfied with people being able to play their games on screens they don’t control.

I got it. Olan Rogers near impossible accomplishment of self shipping the only ending to his TV Series that the WB lawyers would allow. He couldn’t: - Work with a publisher - Use a crowdfunding platform - Sell on any website he didn’t own - Release more than one instalment - Release Digitally

“The tactical change in the Hydration Break™️” Every time the World Cup announcers attribute a momentum change to the Hydration Break I laugh.

It’s cool how much the cutscenes in Star Fox change based on route and the objectives. Even the credits change a little based on the route.

The N64 version of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine kind of rocks? It feels more polished than the PC version. It borrows a bunch of design from Ocarina of Time for UX. It was developed by Factor 5 but bizarrely only released on the Lucasarts store and Blockbuster.

Toy Story 5 can feel like a bunch of the shorts jammed together and it’s opinions about tech less nuanced than 007 First Light but it’s still pretty fun and heartfelt. Andrew Stanton proves he can still wrangle together a solid film when it’s not about Mars and Men.

Holy crap the Scarlet Deer Inn demo is not just gorgeous, it has a fantastically compelling gameplay and story arc. This is near of top of my most anticipated games now.
