Touching to see the CCTV cameras at Waterloo doing their bit to honour the war dead, there.

Oh hey, anyone want to bring over their copy of Quake and see what framerate we can get at 1024x768?

I mean, my old PowerMac needs a bit of work before we're installing anything but for as long as this happy little dude greets me on the boot screen I really don't mind 🥹

Is there such a thing as an iconic pencil? If there is, then the Berol Venus is arguably it, and I need you to assure me that I'm not strange by being unreasonably excited about finally getting my hands on some.

If you know what this means then it's probably time to start taking something for your knees x

You know those short indie films WeTransfer advertises to you when you're too cheap to pay a subscription? Are they real, do we reckon? Has anyone ever clicked through to watch one and find out?

Anyway I had a couple of weeks away from Bluesky, I didn't think I could see much point in being here but the more I thought about it the more I realised I just can't see the point in being alive a lot of the time and since I'm stuck with that for the time being I might as well hang about here too 🥰

Interstellar. I feel bad even saying so because I know that there's people on here who I've a lot of time for and who love it. I've tried more than once and it gets worse with every attempt. I'm sorry.

We'll be out on doorsteps clapping people who have the common sense to not use disposable BBQs during a heatwave before the month is out.

I'm starting to think that by watching a generation of disaster movies we've all been unwittingly deceived into believing that world leaders will actually try to do something to save the planet when things start rapidly going to shit.

At this point I'd welcome Bruce Willis jetting off on a space rocket with a nuclear warhead to make everything right. Tbh I'd probably join him.

I'm not sure how many more of these I'll manage. Now excuse me while I go and make sure that no rogue cardboard has crept into my plastic recycling.

We aren't allowed to just enjoy being alive because rich people want to get richer, and somehow we've got to be fine with that because we have no other option.

I don't know about you but I'm also starting to think that this exceptionally bad summer isn't actually going to be the exception for much longer.

10 years living in Yorkshire, finally made it to Leeds' Corn Exchange yesterday. It was worth the wait.

I'm destined to never have any money.

The LEGO Group’s next ocean liner – and first follow-up to 10294 Titanic – is now rumoured to be a modern vessel that’s still in operation today. www.brickfanatics.com/lego-titanic... #LEGO #LEGONews

Arguably Richard Osman's greatest felony against literature isn't spawning the cosy crime genre - everyone has their own thing and that's fine - but it's that the window displays of bookshops are now about 80% full of them and their offshoots and they all have near-identical looking cover artwork 🤨

Admittedly I quite liked The Thursday Murder Club, although that said I didn't finish it as I don't like getting to the end of anything I really enjoy for fear of it being over. That said however the Netflix version was an abomination, so he can chalk that up as a charge too.

Cheeky win on the Euromillions last night. Celebrated by ordering the Lego X-Files set. I wasn't going to let that £2.80 change me.

Still longing for a movie version of War of the Worlds that's entirely faithful to the soundtrack and artwork of the Jeff Wayne album. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I'm sorry, but I'm still struggling to comprehend just how good the 8x zoom on the iPhone 17 Pro is. Judging by previous models zooming in this far should render shots like they're being displayed on Teletext. HOW is it doing this?

I'll be honest, I wouldn't have placed this that highly when it comes to claims you need to make at an airport.
