My personal website had some downtime today because I cut the power to the office to change a light switch and the battery backup just turned off immediately. I later discovered that the VM did not have "start at boot" enabled πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Yes, I host my website from an old PC in my office. It's fine.

We heard you. We agree. In light of recent developments in physical media, GitHub is proud to announce that you can now obtain your public repo on CD-ROM. Keep it. Lend it to friends. Pass it on to your children. Your code is physically yours, forever. Until you lose it, let's be real. gh.io/cd

Introducing the new Safari MCP server 🎊 Connect your agent directly to a live Safari browser window so it can find bugs and examine the page on its own. Available in Safari Technology Preview 247. Details here πŸ‘‰πŸ½ webkit.org/blog/18136/i... Give it a try and let me know what you think ❀️

DDD+TDD in small increments is how I get the most out of coding agents these days. I write the domain layer by hand (like an animal) and let the agent take care of the app and infra layers. I review, edit and make sure the domain layer is not touched by the agent

On sections of the code where I must have clear in depth understanding of the impl details y use the agent as a pair programming buddy and won’t let it write any code. I will ask for reviews, alternative approaches and let it explore the code for similar solutions.

I’m back to using AI chat instead of an agent, and maybe you should too It helps me do my work but I’m actually writing the code like a caveman It’s slower than using an agent, but it’s a lot more enjoyable, and my understanding of the system doesn’t suffer Works for me

😳 β€œWe have many years of experience picking apart the work of the world’s best security researchers, and Mythos Preview is every bit as capable. So far we’ve found no category or complexity of vulnerability that humans can find that this model can’t.” blog.mozilla.org/en/privacy-s...

blog.mozilla.orgThe zero-days are numberedΒ  | The Mozilla BlogSince February, the Firefox team has been working around the clock using frontier AI models to find and fix latent security vulnerabilities in the browser.

if you have a solid and secure API with good docs you can generate rich custom UI clients so easily, that there’s no excuse not to have your software be native on all platforms

it’s not sortable 🫀

We are THRILLED to announce that our Ecma standards will now use UUIDs instead of integers. ECMA-262 is now ECMA-39c506d7-731f-4220-8ffd-a68970945a65. Far more scalable. No two specs will ever collide again. Perfect system. Shortened forms like ECMA-39c506d7 are acceptable in casual conversation.

There’s a whole generation of web devs that are so distracted with tailwind that have missed how great CSS has gotten in the past 5 years. Modern CSS is great. Sadly you AI agent mostly spits out tailwind classes

Every once in a while i’ll watch a few minutes of a baseball game and move on. For the past two days this team has made me a fan. What a game.

I built my own (best and last) static site generator years ago. - A single ~200 lines Python file - 2 client-side deps: pico.css & highlight.js - Pages written in HTML (not MD) - Front matter uses TOML - It has templates, includes, blog support - Build and publish to Github pages on push

Learning about type state, phantom, proof, session types in #Rust. You can make it so code literally won't compile unless certain operations happened in a specified order. No runtime checks, no assertions. The type system can catch that. I've wanted this in every language I've ever used.
