The people running twitter are trying to turn it into a mix of /r9k/ and reddit just to boost people nonstop posting about bs to artifically force constant app use, effectively killing the longevity of an artists posts

Apparently the Twitter algorithm just changed where everything gets phased out of the algorithm after 48 hours. That means every artist has 2 days of their art reaching mew eyes, and then nothing, with the highest weight of whether a post gets noticed being within the first two hours

Also if a tweet has a high bounce rate (that is if people click on it and go to a new website i.e.: get off twitter) it will nuke your visibility. So good luck if your comms operate off a google form or separate website, or if you sell merch, or anything of that sort

This also means if there's a link in another tweet under your tweet. This new algo update completely fucks artists in a way that I don't think is recoverable

This is extremely hyper aggressive, there is no way most artist can keep up unless they post daily and either often/during peak hours. Where if a post doesn't blow up within 2 hours then chances are new eyes will never see it. This is sooooo fucked up, good luck.

The Rosebuds Sunday title panels are akin to a Simpson's couch gag in that I make them different every week. And like the couch gags, it'd be cool to have guest artists contribute one every once in a while. To start this new trend off, next Sunday's title panel features a VERY special guest artist.

Sometimes a power fantasy isn't about being super strong, or the smartest, or the best. I think a valid power fantasy is having other people help solve your struggles, the power fantasy of the kindness of strangers

The power fantasy of exploring your options when the opportunity presents itself to you, letting go of your mask, giving other people the capacity to help you, if you let them, if you take that chance because it's better than to suffer alone

The power fantasy of not trying to do everything yourself and that others can offer help and lift you out of a problem you've been banging your head against the wall for god knows how long

Music Videos have taught me you can tell full on stories in just 3-4 minutes of run time, I need to start studying this idea, apply it to comics and animations, any future project. Things don't need to fit the paradigm of TV/streaming, art can be so much more

BCCR (my comic/project) is about to get so much looser, but so much broader and denser, and absolutely more free, and I'm tearing up right now because I finally realized something about how to be more free with my art, like I let go of the chains of normal storytelling and my world just opened up

Who knew making stickers, and thinking about street art more, and in turn y2k music video culture could bring this out of me. It was so obvious, like so so obvious, but it took up until now to figure it out.

You can do so much, with so little, and let everyone fill in the blanks while still guiding their eyes. I'm motivated now, I got direction. When I said I wanted things to feel more pulpy, I got a frame of reference now.

Not everything has to be a giant mega forever project, and that was always the goal with what I wanted to do, just a collection of short stories, and now I got a new framework to play around with and I Feel Free

I hate the term photographic memory because it doesn't exist, it assumes something about how humans observe things, and that some people have master observational skills and can remember every detail at a glance, when in reality how people practice observation is INCREDIBLY selective

Observation is so incredibly subjective and varies from person to person. Everybody has observational blindspots, it's how people like magicians or artists have made entire careers, it is physically impossible to pick up on every detail for every given thing

Which is why observation is a SKILL that is equal parts technique, and equal parts intuition, and even then there is no such thing as perfection. Even cameras are limited to their specific angle and lens etc etc.

A lot of the struggle with people in their 20s/young adult drama is people who have figured out who they are get caught in the crossfire of other people still figuring out who they are

I'm not saying it's bad to still be trying to discover yourself or your place in the world, I'm just trying to vocalize the rift that happens between people i.e.: why people grow distant

You can tell a lot of tech dudes only interaction with comics comes from single panel political cartoons (i loathe political cartoons I think they are in fact the lowest form of cartooning)

I think if I had to say something nice about my style it's that I embrace the imperfections. I don't have the words to describe it, but I feel the imperfections coming together to still convey something recognizable+with intent is charming

I think it's most obvious if you ever see me draw live, any piece I do goes on a journey, no real groundwork, no sketches, just free forming from one line to the next

Cause honestly I don't think my art has much more to say outside of what it is, I can iron out the imperfections but it doesn't really add much of anything if I do that
