I wish I could get over this feeling like a kid barely good at algebra being thrown into a Calc II class with this project. The more I dig in, the more I realize how fundamentally things will change, and somehow coordinate this with so many people, systems.. I'm feeling in over my head a bit. -.-

Had an outpatient thing done this afternoon. I was not prepared for the annoyance it is after. Really hard to sit comfortable, and not in a good way. -.-

I am starting to get very tired of a certain agency who's contractors think they have the ability to just call/reach out and interrupt you in the middle of meetings they KNOW you are in. No, I do NOT have time for a 'quick' phone call that you can write in a ticket and/or email in 3 lines.

I really wish parents around here would teach their kids that when on a sidewalk with an electric scooter or bicycle to at least slow down and/or go around me when walking Korb. Every time, they just charge at us at speed and have to stop them. Korb does not like it when they do that at all.

I should say not ME specifically, but pedestrians in general. Like I have no idea what the heck they are expecting. I just worry someone will end up getting hurt.

I forgot that I'm an adult and have a deep frier, and can make mozzarella sticks of my own any time I want to. I'm making mozzarella sticks tonight, dammit. Can't believe I hadn't done this yet..

Had my annual review today, something I always worry about for some reason. It's been a stressful year for sure, and with all the new challenges and trying to keep up, I feel as though I've been failing.

At least I know now it was stupid and everything is fine.. The biggest 'gripe' is the fact that I apologize too much for bothering people that need to be bothered in high-priority cases where it's very much warranted. My first words were, "I'm sorry.." x.x

The past year, and especially the past few weeks, I've been in not a great place mentally. I've been waiting months to see a psych and finally did on Thursday. They put me on a med that I've previous tried long ago, but they want me to start from scratch.

The side effects are not pleasant right now, and I'm just sitting in a state of just.. blank. I know it'll take time. This is why I've been quiet for a while now, so please have some patience with me.

"What directory are the files being sent to on the vendor site? They need to know this for their migration." Watching as he screenshares and shows the logs I send to them every time a file is transferred, with the directory RIGHT THERE and he even points out! Just.. wha?? I'm tired, boss.

Security and keeping things up to date is a very noble and necessary thing, especially in this post-AI IT landscape with new exploits being released into the wild quicker than any time in history by at least an order of magnitude.

But what I see, is all these different orgs all doing different methods of mitigation without actually looking to see what other threads, apps or other businesses it impacts is now starting to cause major issues and breaking other things. This is the new norm. -.-

My fuggin' DOG. Can I just get a round of wildcards updated already??! First spending 2 weeks planning how to do this manual rotation until we get automation in place. Then CAA issues in every fuggin' domain/SAN due to needing international checks from geoblocked places..

Now a security update fubar'd email so I can't issue shit as the clock keeps ticking.. Waiting for a P1 hotfix from vendor on our appliances. The past two weeks have just been absolute dogshit, non-stop pressure. -.-

Apologize if I've been kinda quiet lately. I love doing what I do for a living, but also will say working in critical systems, pressure can very much be a thing. Still dealing with a situation on a now short clock, and if it doesn't get resolved soon, lets just say is keeping me up at night. -.-

It's been a day. I love the vendor call we had last week where we told them to turn of AI recording, as our security policy doesn't allow that. Waiting to work with their professional services to automate this whole project, but have been waiting on a date to start.

Learned after meeting with rep today it didn't start because the project order piece wasn't filled out, due to the AI recording being disabled. "WHAT THE HELL ARE WE PAYING FOR?" is what I scream internally. I really am starting to hate this future.

2nd ticket in a month where a high-profile person does the absolute minimum of logging into a web portal, and instantly opens a priority ticket because things "aren't working". Instead of yaknow, using your fuggin' brain and clicking on the glowing folder "SHARED WITH ME". Goddamn..

After seeing this today, I just was like.. I need this. And just like our Star Trek booze collection, I very badly want a whole set of all the Nuka flavours. Would muchly need a lighted base, but damn it'd be awesome. This better glow! www.jonessoda.com/products/jon...

Not sure why, but husburb made a post earlier today that somehow went hot.. But it didn't show up in my TL at all after multiple refreshes and cache clears. Even showed the TL to him and we're just buh? He mentioned it coming home, and I'm like, "What post?". Sure enough, it's just not showing.

Also, I have no idea how I made it through without incident on our afternoon walk either today, it's been a strange one.. There's a tree a few houses down that's on city property (drainage creek easement) I typically walk past and Korb likes to do his thing.

Today he stood there doing his sniffin's, and I'm noticing a few flying things around me, nothing unusual normally. Glancing right less than 3' from my face is a GIANT hornets nest. I nearly shat myself and moved as slowfast outta there.

In over 12 years of living here, I've seen all kinds of fauna around the area. Tonight on taking Korb out was the first time I've seen, and been stalked by a pair of foxes. Separated by half a block, the 'lead' one just kept following us.

On the way back, it actually started walking TOWARDS us multiple times and didn't respond to trying to scare it off. Just acted in defiance so went around em'. Kept following us back to the house at a distance, but damn, never seen that before here.

I just got TLS rugpulled today on my home router VPN, that I'm about to do to all SSH/TLS connections I'm gonna be doing at work to everyone next week. At least it was a simple (and final-supported) firmware update I was lazy about. I really need to get my rack up and running, stupid brainfreeze..

Been just a craptastic week of stuff so far with planning. Anniversary cabin that I was looking forward to got cancelled. Electrician ghosted me waiting since 2pm for estimate 20A circuits. Work, security and the election this week.. Some reason made chili tonight that came out awesome at least!

Actually am a little surprised local residential PC repair places haven't started offering cleaning/repasting/repadding of video cards given their value. I've hit up around 5 known places around Madison, and all were not doing them. One even asked me if others were!

Guess I'll do it myself, just is very specific. Replacing all the fans and may as well refresh the 3090. At least I have the EVGA specs for pad sizes (3 different!) Also got a new bigger case (Y70), new fans, & updated AIO cooler.

I misspelled a word on an official email that went out to over 15k users. I have no idea how I didn't catch it, nor how it didn't get flagged in any of the apps I used to compose/send it. I feel like I committed a mortal sin. -.-

In what I do, I make it a point to only have basic knowledge of the data I manage and transfer. I don't really care that your process does all these things. I just care about getting the data from A -> B as securely as possible.

I got included in an email chain with one of them where they're showing the expected dataset as X number of characters in the code. I instantly flashed back to 10th Grade the moment I saw "PIC X(49)" Was not expected to see COBOL as part of this kind of transfer.

I'm getting to be pretty alright at the damn game, and even won a few first level decks now. Then I get to yellow, and every time I get in the groove, it'll throw a curveball to bone me. Here, it's like.. "You think you're cute with your build, well, FUCK YOU then!" (Face card stack build)

After watching a SGDQ run of Balatro, and putting it off forever decided to try it out finally. 4 hours later, I have made a grave error. It really is addicting. -.-

Wow, I actually was on the receiving end of an Amazon lottery shipment instead of getting an open box or something.. Of course not something crazy, but was rather surprised to have 16 nozzles AND hose for the Gecko's cage instead of the 4 nozzles I ordered.
