I realised I haven't really included a post for people who knew me on Twitter/new followers to know me by, hello, I'm Ghost Animates Stuff, used to be known as Gergely Szőcs (@GergelySzocs) on Twitter, I mostly post sci-fi art, some relating to my own animation/story, Pillar of Peace

Call of Duty MW4 is North Korea scaremongering in 2026 godamn that franchise is straight up just dogshit and evil

Like I kinda didn't notice the themes being straight up just dumb shit military propaganda as a kid but as an adult it's so surreal seeing North Korea villainized while they have nowhere near the kill count the US and Israel have racked up in the 21st century

#IndieAnimationDay This is a preview of my sci-fi animated short, Pillar of Peace! The spaceship Pillar of Peace launches from Earth and gets caught up in the turmoils of the 22nd century

This is actually the exact same technique that NASA uses to convince you the Earth is round

Realized recently that I haven't put much thought on how a space station is gonna be built/explode in my animation so here's a short animatic I did in Callipeg #animation #scifi

So Youtube's been on a spree demonetising a bunch of storytime animation channels because they have cartoony art styles but deal with mature themes. Love how in the year of our Lord 2026 animation is still thought of as made for children

"Actually animation is for children except if it's in a cheap ugly looking art style with fart jokes at which point it can enter the coveted category of adult animation in the eyes of the public"

The part about After Effects taking years off of someone's life resonated with me because the very few projects I HAD to use AE on genuinely made me feel a mix of helplessness, rage and then deep sadness I couldn't replicate with other software except maybe Illustrator

The comparison is obviously not really smart but it is fair to mention that uncritical acceptance of cars led to car centric infrastructure, led to urban sprawl, led to the bulldozing of historic streets and it also very significantly contributed to climate change

I wanted to shit on Youtube for removing the opportunity to see likes vs dislikes in Youtube Studio's content tab but I think it reflects the current social media ecosystem where it doesn't matter if people like what you make, if they hate you enough to engage with it it still counts as a success

On websites like Facebook, X etc. it might even be a better idea to make content that pisses people off enough to make them try to argue with you. It feels like social media is increasingly built around anger
