Shocking to discover designating AI data centres as “National Critical Infrastructure” means water companies are prohibited from restricting water to them even in times of drought. Households will lose water first. Thanks to @olliehayes.bsky.social at @globalactionplan.bsky.social for joining me

This report demonstrates that action on clean air works. With the Mayor’s support and Londoners taking action by walking and cycling, we are seeing a reduction in air pollution and are experiencing the health benefits as a result. However, the job is not yet done. #CleanAir #Airpollution

Estimated annual deaths associated with air pollution in London reduced by around 40% between 2019 and 2024.  Real change is possible.

While we celebrate the progress made, we must remember that there is no safe level of air pollution and all levels of government must continue working towards World Health Organisation guidelines being reached across the UK.

We were delighted to be joined by Breathe London award winners, councillors, parliamentarians, businesses, and clean air groups at Clean Air Fund's #CleanAirDay parliamentary event this afternoon, sponsored by Liz Twist. Thank you to everyone who joined us today! #BreatheLondon #CleanAirDay

In preparation for #CleanAirDay, Dr Malcolm White, our Senior Clean Air Specialist, journeyed to Whips Cross Hospital yesterday to deliver an air pollution training to early career Resident Doctors working at Barts NHS Trust. #BreatheLondon #CleanAirDay

The aim of ‘Breathe London’ is to promote and improve public access to accurate, reliable air quality data, and empower local communities to take action on air pollution by providing them with the necessary tools, resources and support.

We asked mayors: what’s one item that best represents your idea of a liveable, resilient, and sustainable city? Their answers show how climate action delivers cleaner air, stronger communities, and a better quality of life. What item would you choose? #CleanAirDay #WCS2026

It was also fantastic to see the efforts of the school to reduce air pollution in their community through their implementation of various initiatives including a School Street that restricts cars from driving near the school at drop off and pick up, wig–wag lights and an anti-idling banner!

We’ve made incredible progress on cleaning up London’s air, but the fight isn’t over. This Clean Air Day, we’re committing an additional £6m to help boroughs further improve air quality locally.

Data centres are being proposed at the expense of local communities across the country, putting a massive strain on water and power supplies as well as delaying much needed housing projects. Sign our petition to #StopDirtyDataCentres www.globalactionplan.org.uk/stop-dirty-data-centres

Mike will draw on his latest book ‘A Climate of Truth’ and his work as Chair of the National Emergency Briefing to discuss the systemic challenges facing humanity and what can be done as we accelerate into a polycrisis of climate, food security, biodiversity, pollution, inequality, and more.

Currently, data centre operators are not required to disclose their water usage, which means this rapidly expanding sector is not accurately factored into Government risk planning. We must apply the brakes before it’s too late. Add your name to our petition today to #StopDirtyDataCentres

Yesterday we celebrated a major win for our legal challenge, when the developer of a planned hyperscale data centre accepted that it must be subject to binding environmental conditions. But there are still over 100 data centres in planning across the country, which is why we need your help:

While households, farmers and local authorities are being urged to reduce water use and prepare for scarcity, a highly water-intensive digital infrastructure is being actively promoted as a national priority. #StopDirtyDataCentres

Communities across the UK are fighting to have their concerns about AI data centres heard but are being drowned out by big tech lobbyists who hold the ear of government. Every name added to the petition makes it harder for the UK Government to ignore. #StopDirtyDataCentres

When adults avoid the topic of climate change – whether through discomfort or a fear of getting it wrong - children fill in the gaps themselves, often with anxiety and misinformation. Climate change is not a separate issue to safeguarding. #teaching #sustainability #education

Young people are aware of climate change and are often trying to understand this complex and uncertain topic without the required space or support to process it, intensifying risks to their mental health and wellbeing.

If safeguarding is about keeping children safe, then the guidance must evolve to meet that challenges of today’s society. Right now, there is a rare opportunity to have your say on government safeguarding guidance for schools across England. Learn more on how you can have your say:
