All campaign economics need to be evaluated. We can't keep spending like this and the flooding of the media universe may just drive the country insane. Serious professionals shoupd get paid but they better show victories or invent new strategies.

This is part of why I don't want to see Harris run. Her name on the ballot; her responsibility to have people spend other's money correctly. She ran a grotesquely inefficient campaign and it may unravel world order. So yeah, let's take a fresh look at things.

A lot of truth here but ZERO mention of Republicans doing the same. This sure feels like a disgruntled far left writer screaming "both parties are the same" while still occasionally making a salient argument.

Just as a private equity firm buys out a corporation and strips it for parts, a consultant class is raiding the Democratic Party and getting “generationally wealthy” along the way New from me and @adambonica.bsky.social newrepublic.com/article/2163...

I'm a professional in political work. There is a tipping point on campaigns where money is wasted just because it's available. Flashy races always get there but you're local races don't. Who are you donating to: your city council candidate or a Senate contender in a distant state?

Talarico, Ossoff, Acton... if you live in Missouri, these people shouldn't get your money. Find a State Senate or House race. Give to the local party or organizing club. Donate 2 hours of time. It's a long game.

This is the most honest thing Musk has ever done to help the economy. Several dozen people got quite wealthy off of these donations and they will likely buy a bunch of frivolous stuff and pay taxes at the top rate.

Short-listed for VP nomination in '28 with a win. Just needs to convert to generic Christianity.

I have growing resentment for the idiots who get better paying work than me. The problem is I don't whore myself out well. The competition of the market evolved faster than I did in that regard. Lesson learned. Hear more valuable lessons in my $2,500 lecture.

Dude have you met your boss?

JD Vance: "When you're mean to Amy Acton, she sics the American media and of course the Democrat Party operatives all across the state of Ohio after you. But I think a person who is more worried about whether somebody says something mean about them, that person can never serve in the gov's mansion"

Polls show that consumer pricing, fuel costs, Iran, government corruption and a few other things are moving voters but nobody ever talks about this. Once again, Trump knows what priorities to keep attention on.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

I am late to this post from Trump, but my goodness.

Shoutout to the lowest critic score of the past 24 hours; this raunchy serial-killer picture starring Ray Romano, Ralph Macchio, Tim McGraw, and LL Cool J.

Vote. Early. Vote early. Bring friends. 5 friends.

Missouri Democrats@missouridemocrats.bsky.social

Tomorrow is the first day of early voting in Missouri. During the 2 weeks before an election, you may vote a no-excuse absentee ballot in person at a location designated by your local election authority. Make a plan to vote as soon as possible and talk to your circle about doing the same!

Has anyone else noticed a sort of "hero worship" toward candidates in recent years? Trump is his own thing but, regardless of party, a level of devotion and identification that was far less common before 2016? Working on an idea for something.

He turned the rambling lie machine up to 11 today. Pretty easy to understand how he is finding the bottom of his support line. Everything is worse and he sounds like a blathering fool daily.

Trump: "Every country that's using windmills has gone bankrupt"

True story: this morning my wife and I watched the clips of Zachariah on Hannity and I joked that when she is fired, the position should become a Miss America rotation where every state sends a model. 55 auditions and Trump picks the winner to finish the term. Now I legit think it's the best option.

Going with my wild Sherrod Brown hairstyle today. I'm assuming Ohio progressives think I'm sexy. Girl, get at me and let's talk about tax code reform to make the rich pay more.

If consumer pricing wasn't up, especially gas over $4, plus Iran and a barrage of federal corruption daily, trans could have been the deciding issue. But it will be basically off the table as a losing issue after this year. Another unforced error by Republicans (fortunately).

gwen howerton@kissphoria.bsky.social

Fascinating tidbit in this interview with former Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont), he says that Texas Republicans anti-transgender ads aren't "resonating." "What Republicans are talking about is just not what the swing voter is really interested in." www.texasmonthly.com/news-politic...

All of the redistricting madness was for nothing. Republicans basically spent every questionably legal resource to still lose what mattered. All because Trump said to.

This cycle, the debates do seem a bit lopsided. This may be a sign that public debates don't matter in super expensive races anymore because they can't cut through the rest of the noise. Obviously the exceptions would be troubling bombs like Biden (only applies to Dems).

Adam Weinstein@adamweinstein.bsky.social

Watching literally any of these debates rn

Watching the not at all subtle Nightmare on Elm St 2 tonight. I liked it as a kid, picked up on the subtext a little later. Very weird sequel but, if nothing else, a significant LGBT film.

It's Monday so I'm pissed off at 31 different flavors of stuff. In good news, I have various edible things on and around my property. American Beauty Berries and Jujubee fruit.

I had a dream last night that I was going to jail for trying to liberate oppressed people from some jerks in WW1 uniforms. We had to set a hotel on fire.

I got a flu shot today to show my daughter that it wouldn't hurt before she got hers. Then we went home and learned about vaccines for an hour. She understands more than most of the "I did my own research" anti vax crowd. She hasn't turned 5 yet.

I think Trump will try everything to make the election harder for Republicans but so many things cancel others out, it's a coin toss for the Senate and about 5 Congressionals. 7D chess in action.

Q: President Zelenskyy said the diesel deal is a weak move that will only prolong the war-- TRUMP: We need oil for the world. So we're very happy to get it

If we aren't counting Miller (because he isn't human) Hegseth is the worst, most despicable person in the administration.

Adam Kinzinger@adamkinzinger.substack.com

The idea of executions being live-streamed is absolutely sick and disgusting. You don’t hate Pete Hegseth enough

Elite humans separate from workers of low need to make superior intelligence. I have a funny feeling Vance and I took different lessons from Brave New World.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: You mentioned you want people like Elon Musk to come here, but he didn't build his companies overnight. So how do you decide who is the next Elon Musk? VANCE: One, does the person fill a position that simply cannot be filled by an American worker? Two, is this person a truly elite human being?

Replay this on loop as justification for the next Dem President to have him jailed for life.

Trump: "I could've done very bad things to Hillary Clinton. I could've done very very bad things to Joe Biden. I could've done very bad things to Barack Hussein Obama ... I can do whatever I want, if I want."

"Remember in the 80s, that movie The Day After? Hilarious. We won that war, by the way, bigly. They cut it out of the final version. We bombed the hell out of the Commies. Millions of dead people on both sides but we won. Great stuff. Steve Guttenberg."

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

Update: I'm only doing well with the coffee. Very, very well.

Geoff with a G@gmgerling.bsky.social

All I ask for in October is to drink a gallon of coffee, walk for an hour in mid 60 degree weather, eat a steak and a pecan pie, then watch horror movies until my eyes dry out 20 of 31 days. I don't think I'm being unreasonable.

This only applies to younger conservatives. Old money can see the difference between flashy debt and real wealth miles away. Just be comfortable and buy stuff that holds up. The rest is bullshit.

derek guy@dieworkwear.bsky.social

seeing conservative men debate how to dress online is very funny. can't dress up or wear interesting casualwear bc you've made any visible interest in dress to be a sign of homosexuality. but you feel the need to dress better bc you've linked dress to respectability. a prison of your own making.
