The single best way to reduce traffic accidents is to get cars off the road. We accomplish this by changing building requirements to make multifamily homes easier to build Reducing Parking requirements Safe bike infrastructure And more public transit. Make it easier to use other options.

The missiles used to bomb the elementary school in Iran Are confirmed to be Tomahawks. Everyone at Raytheon. You have blood on your hands. You are not to blame for this strike. You didn't know how these missiles would be used. But now you do. And you have the blood of children on your hands.

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.

Exclusive: Amazon has long been USPS’s top customer, providing over $6 billion in annual revenue in 2025. But Amazon may give up its long-standing partnership with USPS to deliver packages itself, which could spell disaster for the mail agency.

“I spent three nights and three days in federal custody. During that time, I was never told what I was charged with, was not allowed to shower despite being covered in tear gas and pepper spray, had no phone call to my family, and no access to an attorney.” - George Retes, U.S. citizen and veteran.

“I’m worried about my community… I’m out here in a frog costume to show how ridiculous the notion that we’re violent terrorists is, and showcase how that narrative is wrong…” Serious Q: is it too late to give this dude the Nobel Peace Prize? 🐸 🏆

Thread about Why Cars suck! For my vehicle I pay on average $800-1200 per month in gas/maintenance/car payments/insurance every month for a machine that costs tens of thousands of dollars THAT LOSES VALUE for every mile I drive it. And this for an AFFORDABLE vehicle.

Having a fleet of busses that our taxes maintain, is way cheeper than everyone owning a car. Way less fuel emissions than everyone owning a car Way less SPACE than everyone owning a car (more room for parks, small businesses, housing) And way less tires meaning way less microplastics in your brain.

And that's just busses. Consider also: trains! EVEN CHEAPER THAN BUSSES! Rails cost less to build/maintain than roads. AND THEY'RE FASTER. You could hurtle down a freeway at 95mph risking your life and everyone else's OR Safely ride in a bullet train at 300mph Or even just a normal train at 120mph.

Hey you know how we have enough microplastics in our brains to make a spoon? Yeah Guess where most of that plastic is coming from? IT'S CAR TIRES. Just normal wear and tear on car tires, microscopic bits of rubber breaking off into the wind for you to inhale. Funny how no one talks about that.

Next: car accidents. As a bus driver, I see at least 1 accident EVERY DAY. Multiply that by ~70bus routes because all the other drivers see these too. Thankfully almost all of these accidents, the drivers/passengers walk away unhurt, but suffer thousands of dollars in damages. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY

Eliminating cars, would massively decrease dependence on foreign oil, Massively decrease emissions, And free up tens of thousands of dollars in income for other things like food or housing. And you might say "electric cars!" Nah Here's why electric cars Also Suck! It's the battery.

The lithium for the batteries in eCars has to be mined using these incredibly toxic chemical pits. It's not just digging a hole and finding ore. There's also not enough lithium in the entire planet to support the car industry. Not to mention, eCars also don't fix the cost issue I started with.

Ben of Ben & Jerry’s *arrested* after confronting RFK Jr. & Congress: "They need to let food into Gaza. They need to let food to starving kids! Congress is paying to bomb poor kids in Gaza, and paying for it by kicking poor kids off Medicaid in the US!"

You are up to date.
