You’ve already migrated to Go 1.27, but your AI agent hasn’t caught up yet and keeps spewing out 1.16 syntax? Tell it how to write modern #golang code with our skills – featuring guidelines for all releases, including the latest one! Read more 👇 https://jb.gg/6g1ans

Last week had a lot of security teams on high alert and while Go was not the center of attention, it was not immune from the fallout either. Now the Go security team shares how they handled the eMudhra key disclosure incident and what they will be changing moving forward as a result.

26% of Gophers earn over $120k, compared to 14% of Python devs. But before you decide to learn a new language, note that among seniors, that gap is statistically insignificant. It exists because a higher percentage of Go devs are senior, and seniors earn more, regardless of the language they use.

It’s that time of the year, Gophers! The @golang.org team needs some answers from you – take the 2026 Go Developer Survey now 👇

The 2026 Go Developer Survey is open! Help set Go’s priorities for next year by telling us how you use Go and where it could be better. ⏱️ 10–20 minutes 📅 Open through November 3 blink.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_... #golang

“Almost right” is not a code quality standard. GoLand helps you stay confident in the code you ship. Let’s talk about it! 🎥👇

An agent writes the code now. Do you still need an IDE? You do if you want to understand and verify what the agent did. "Almost right" doesn't cut it in the real world. Let’s talk about what an IDE becomes when humans aren't the only ones working on the code: https://youtu.be/AHFGMkzrfwM

With roughly 10% of Python devs planning to pick up Go next year, we decided to compare the two languages. We gathered 12,000+ survey responses on what these developers use, ship, and earn, plus seven interviews with engineers who already migrated – the full scoop on Python vs. Go 👉 jb.gg/ix89jo

jb.ggPython vs Go: A Practical Comparison for Developers - The JetBrains BlogWe look at how Python and Go differ, what surveys tell us about the devs who use them, and what interviews say about the trade-offs between them.

99.2% of Gophers have tried at least one AI coding tool. This makes Go developers the most universal AI adopters in our Developer Ecosystem 2026 survey. With Junie Lite, using AI in your development workflow is easier than ever. Access it for free in both GoLand and your terminal via JetBrains Air.

The answer is: `<nil>` `errors.Join()` produces a `[]error`. But `errors.Unwrap()` returns a single error, so it gives up. The way in is a type assertion on the method set: `err.(interface{ Unwrap() []error })`

Go quiz: `ReadFiles()` fails on all three paths and joins the errors with `errors.Join()`. What does the second line print?

Tired of switching between your editor and observability tools just to check your app performance while it’s running? GoLand shows you live performance charts for CPU and memory usage in real time directly in the IDE. You’ll find the charts in the “Go Optimization” tool window. #GoLandTip

`go fix` works in GoLand, displaying modernization opportunities as inspections right in the editor. This includes all modernizers from 1.27, like generic iterator improvements, safer unsafe pointer arithmetic, improved atomic types, embedded composite literals, and slice modernization. #GoLandTip

In addition, GoLand lets you enable go fix as a pre-commit check. Before each commit, the IDE runs the official Go modernizers and automatically applies any available updates. This helps teams keep the codebase aligned with the latest Go recommendations as new modernizers become available.

What change in Go 1.27 is going to have the biggest impact on developers? Marc Dougherty says it’s not generic methods, it’s actually `go fix` – simply because it affects your everyday work. See what else Marc had to say at the Go 1.27 release party 👉 https://jb.gg/72xzcr #Golang #GoReleaseParty

Did you know you can run escape analysis straight from your IDE? Go to the “Go Optimization” window, choose “Escape analysis”, pick a scope, and then just click to run it. The tool lets you analyze a single file or the whole package and choose which message types you want to see. #GoLandTip

Why did the Go team skip generic methods in 1.18, only to bring them back in 1.27? Robert Griesemer breaks down the history of this proposal and how the community feedback made the difference. #Golang #GoReleaseParty

Robert Griesemer: ergonomic aspects were the major reason for why the Go team finally adopted generic methods in Go 1.27 – they’re inherently useful, even when not called through interfaces. Mark Freeman explains where the problem with generic interface methods lies in more detail 👇

“Generic Methods” by Mark Freeman — https://go.dev/blog/generic-methods #golang

Go 1.27 is out and generic methods have landed – a method can now declare its own type parameters. Also in this release: the stdlib `uuid` and `encoding/json/v2` packages, plus a new `goroutineleak` profile. See all these features in action at the Go 1.27 release party on Aug 25 👉 jb.gg/go-127-obs

Lean back, GoLand's got you 😉.

AI pressure is multiplying. New models, constant updates, changing workflows. Meanwhile, you have code to ship 🤔. With IntelliJ IDEA and other JetBrains IDEs, AI lives where you code, bringing IDE intelligence to you and your agents so you can own the result and ship with confidence👇 jb.gg/ai-in-ij

You are up to date.
